With all the shoes dropping all over the place, these might’ve slipped through the cracks. With the resurgence of retro basketball kicks from the 90s (which I believe is the real golden age of sneakers), we’re seeing more and more of the pairs that truly shaped today’s kick game. Nike released a couple of solid pairs from their archive this season such as the Air Flight Huarache and Air Raid to name a few, they recently released the Air Zoom Flight ’96.
Originally called the Air Zoom Flight Mid back in 1996, Penny Hardaway wore them en route to USA’s Gold Medal in Atlanta for the ’96 Olympics. It wasn’t officially on the Penny signature line but it was definitely a pair he wore in between the Air Penny 2 and 3. It basically married the Zoom Flight ’95 (aka Jason Kidd’s unofficial sig) and the Air Penny series, with the waves we saw on the Penny 2 and the carbon fiber/graphic pattern from the Zoom Flight 95. The Air Zoom Flight ’96 is now back and in the two most popular colorways from back in the day. If you’re wanting to relive your childhood or basque in the glory days of Penny, make your way to Titan now and pick these up. The Nike Air Zoom Flight ’96 retails for Php 6,995.
