Vans Vault and Commonwealth release their first ever collaboration this weekend

Posted on May 24, 2019 in Vans

After its US release a week prior, Commonwealth PH just launched their latest sneaker collaboration, this time with skateboarding brand Vans. Under their Vans Vault collection, the two brands decided to focus on two iconic silhouettes – the Era and Slip-On.

The two silhouettes may seem low-key and basic upon first glance, but the detail on each makes the pack so much more than your usual skate shoe. Taking inspiration from art, the military and current events, the two pairs use a generous amount of premium suede for its upper. The Era initially looked like a grey pair but you’ll notice a light olive shade dubbed “Desert Sage”. The sidestripe is replaced with tiny black checkerboard graphics with the words “Every Generations Needs A New Revolution” etched on to the midsole. The Slip-On, on the other end is done in “Lark Tan”, with the suede upper done in tan to contrast the white midsoles. The checkerboard pattern is now on the midsole while the line “People Everywhere Are Created Equal” is now found on the shoe’s foxing. To complete the pair’s collab, Commonwealth’s branding is found on the reverse woven Vans tab found on the side panel.

The Vans Vault x Commonwealth collection drops tomorrow, May 25th. You can secure your pair today via Copdate. All winners will be notified and you can claim your pairs tomorrow at their Greenbelt locaiton. All unclaimed pairs will be sold on a first come, first serve basis soon after. Each pair from the collection retails for Php 7,500.
