New: Vans presents the New Future – a campaign focused on the Premium Old Skool

Posted on Jul 28, 2025 in Vans

Vans has been around since ’66 and to this day, the brand continues to evolve as seen through the lens of 4 athletes – Efron Danzig (Skateboarder), Cocona Hiraki (Skateboarder), Tania Cruz (Skateboarder) and Karina Rozunko (Surfer). Bannering in the New Future, these 4 athletes rock the Premium Old Skool.

The Old Skool first released in 1977 as Style 36, and has been legendary to the brand’s success. The Old Skool was the first to feature the iconic Sidestripe, but now the Premium Old Skool pushes the boundaries through these 4 – all reflecting their unique personalities and passions.

Vans x Cocona Hiraki Premium Old Skool

Cocona’s POS features her custom artwork on a translucent outsole, paired with a removable friendship bracelet. The charms found on the bracelet are inspired by her Japanese heritage. “With skateboarding, no one person is the same. Each person has a different style. To me, having your
own unique skate style is the difference.”
says Hiraki.

Vans x Karina Rozunko Premium Old Skool

Blending vintage-inspired designs with custom metal accessories, the Premium Old Skool also features an asymmetrical wrap on the shoe’s upper. Rooted in traditional longboarding, Rozunko’s style is effortless, from fashion to film to jewelry making, she’s always exploring new creative outlets. As Rozunko puts it, “Whatever you own, you can look amazing if you’re just rocking it.”

Vans x Tania Cruz Premium Old Skool

Taking inspiration from her global skate and art community, Cruz’ Premium Old Skool features rub-away leather which features a red upper which becomes visible over time. “The Old Skool can be compared to a person who has scars from the past. We have to wear them with pride because they make us unique, strong and different.” says Tania Cruz.

Vans x Efron Danzig Premium Old Skool

Danzig’s Premium Old Skool features a heeled cupsole, full-grain leather, silver hardware and corset-inspired lacing. “I took details from old New York rockers, trashy girls, Marie Antoinette, military, punks, and my friends who make clothes. I’m like, dude, a skate shoe version of that would be sick.” – Efron Danzig

The Vans Old Skool New Future Pack willbe exclusively available at Vans Glorietta 3, Vans SM Megamall and Vans SM Mall of Asia.
