New: PUMA kicks off hoop season this weekend at Glorietta
In a week’s time, the Philippines will be the center of basketball with the FIBA Basketball World Cup happening in Manila. After dropping the All-Pro Nitro last week, PUMA adds to the fanfare with Our Ball Above All – an homage to the country’s passion for the sport.
With events happening around PUMA stores in North EDSA, Gateway, Eastwood, Glorietta and Foot Locker throughout the next month, hoop fans can score Philippine-exclusive jerseys by participating in-store activations or by presenting their Gilas team match tickets. Kicking everything off is the event happening this weekend, August 19 to 20, at the Glorietta Mall Activity Center.
Bannering the two-day fun-filled affair is the 3×3 basketball tournament, headlined by select athletes, artists and sports personalities such as Gab Banal, Miguel Dypiangco and a host of others. The tournament eliminations happens on the 19th while the semis and finals commence on the 20th. Joining the event is PUMA global ambassador and Gilas member Kai Sotto who will be at the event on the 19th from 2:30pm onwards. Fans will get an opportunity to take pictures with Kai while the media will get a chance to interview him in preparation for the big basketball season.
Other events happening throughout the weekend would be a DJ rap battle, featuring FlipTop Rap Battle League Dos Por Dos 2 champion Frooz, Sunugan rap tournament finalist Zaki, Morobeats Bara sa Bara Freestyle Battle winner Gnarly Man, and Awit Awards nominee Juan Lazy. Events can also get a free haircut at the barbershop and PUMA customers can personalize their PUMA gear at the customization booth available onsite.
The Philippine-exclusive “Passion for the Game” tees and blue “Tatak Pilipinas” jersey are available for purchase. The yellow variant is the special prize that awaits the winners of the in-store activities.
Aside from the special jersey, PUMA will also release country-exclusive tees and jerseys. If you purchase the gear at the event, you can buy a second piece of apparel at 50% off.
“Filipinos’ enthusiasm and anticipation for more basketball action just keep getting bigger and stronger, and PUMA is more than ready to satisfy that hunger with the launch of Our Ball Above All campaign. This also shows our commitment to continuously support basketball in the country and recognize and celebrate Pinoys’ unrelenting love for the game,” said Paolo Misa, PUMA Philippines Country Manager.
See you all this weekend!
