New: PUMA Hoops Squad on Focus during UAAP S87

Just like that, UAAP Season 87 is done. While everyone seemed to improve and perform better than expected, it was still fitting to get a rematch of last year’s finals for this year’s tiff. The De La Salle Green Archers was focused on the back-to-back championship while the UP Fighting Maroons were set ontheir redemption tour, hoping to break their runner-up curse.

UP had the stops and dethroned the reigning champs to bring the trophy back to Diliman.

Throghout the season, we saw PUMA show off their Hoops Squad – a collection of up and coming athletes that made waves in the league.  For the champs, they were anchored by UP big and PUMA Hoops Squad athlete Quentin Millora-Brown, providing a solid presence in the middle throughout the season but more importantly during the Finals series. On feet, QMB had the latest silhouette from the LaMelo Ball collection – the PUMA MB.04 ‘Scooby-Doo’. Taking inspiration from the Mystery Machine, Scooby’s iconic van that they drove for their Saturday morning adventures.

The MB.04 features a supportive double-layered mesh upper and NITROFOAM cushioning, while enhanced with PUMAGRIP for superior on-court traction.

On the other end of the spectrum, DLSU had their own PUMA Hoops Squad member – Lian Ramiro. Ramiro played a vital role in the Green Archer rotation, giving them a glimmer of hope in turning the tide leading up to the endgame. Unfortunately the Maroons had other plans.

UP also had sophomore and PUMA Hoops Squad member Chicco Briones in the fold, and he was wearing the PUMA x Cheetos Scoot Zeros.The shoe showed fiery flames inspired by the beloved snack along with black spots like Chester Cheetah’s, the Cheetos mascot. The shoe cLuanomes with jaw-like rubber wrapping on the outsole, a high-rebound PROFOAM EVA midsole, and an anti-slip traction pattern. Scoot Henderson’s branding logo is displayed on the shoe’s tongue.
