New: The Nike KD17 drops today
It’s always a bummer when your signature athlete has gone fishing sooner than expected. LeBron, Giannis and Kevin Durant all took an uncharacteristically early break as their teams got eliminated in the first round. While Durant debuted his latest shoe sometime at the tail end of the regular season, it would’ve been so much sweeted seeing KD rock the pairs deep into the postseason. Good thing he has Chet Holmgren holding down the fort as he competes with his fellow Thunder mates against the competition.
An all-around shoe meant for an all-around player like KD, Nike took inspiration from a shoe KD was fascinated with growing up (yes, KD’s mom rocked the Air Max Plus’). This colorway in particular is a nod to that moment, now redesigned specifically for the Slim Reaper.
In term of tech, the KD17 features a big Air Zoom unit in the forefoot for better propulsion. The bottom layer of the upper features Nike Air cushioning around the heel for both comort and bounce. There’s also strong plastic piece at the forefoot for additional support. The outsole pattern features contoured ridges that bend and deflect in multiple directions for better traction. The extra durable rubber compound used on the outsole makes them perfect on any surface, especially for outdoor courts.
The Nike KD17 EP is now available across Nike doors, nike.com/ph and the Nike app. The shoe retails for Php 8,395.
