New: The ‘Linen’ Air Force 1s are dropping tomorrow
It took Nike 23 years to bring them back (the 2016 Kith limited run doesn’t count) and I’m definitely here for it. The highly sought after CO.JP release is part of Nike’s ‘Cult Classics’ pack (which includes the Veneer, Ultraman and Varsity Green Dunks, Ultramarine and Bright Concord 180s, Reverse Duck Camo AM90s and Ivory Snake AF1s to name a few).
While the collection showcases ‘cult classics’ from Nike’s storied archive, the ‘Linen’ Air Force 1s are definitely one of the more coveted pairs as they were Japan exclusives. The shoe is done in premium leathers in tan, complemented by light pink accents on the Swoosh, insoles, midsole, and the embroidered heel logo. The white/pink combo on the midsole/outsole definitely ups the the look of the 1s, looking crisp and fresh as when they first dropped back in 2001.
For better appreciation of the CO.JP line, Nike made a serious push into Japan, as they’ve recognized the country to be a hotbed for sneaker culture. Tapping partner retailers, designers and the like, CO.JP tapped into Japan’s street culture in more ways than one. From exlcusive colorways and special make ups, the line became a must-cop for sneaker aficionados not just in Japan but the entire world. While each pair from the project were instant hits, the ‘Linen’ Air Force 1s have been one of the most coveted pairs in the brand’s history.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low ‘Linen’ makes its return tomorrow, June 13th, via Nike SNKRS and Titan. The shoe will retail for Php 7,395.
