New: Nike signs a 12-year extension with the NBA, WNBA, and NBA G League

With Elliott Hill at the helm, seems like Nike’s bound for an upswing. Earlier today, Nike and the NBA, along with the WNBA announced a 12-year extension as the leagues’ global outfitting, merchandising, marketing and content partner. The Swoosh will be the exclusive on-court uniform and apparel provider for the NBA, WNBA, and NBA G League.

This new deal will have a comprehensive commitment to grassroots basketball, as well as a continued development of a joint membership program to benefit fans of the brand through products, content and experiences. This also stresses an deeper investment into the WNBA.

Alongside this, Nike will also be the official partner of the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA). “We’re excited to renew our partnership with Nike and continue to showcase our players’ efforts on and off the court,” says NBPA Executive Director, Andre Iguodala. “This partnership highlights the reach, influence and impact of our members, driving basketball fandom and inspiring millions of people around the world.”
There’s a lot to look forward to this agreement, as they expand basketball thorugh prorams and resources to make best-in-class youth basketball that’s accessible and scalable. This ofcourse will be through the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA. These programs and resources will also provide experiences that extend through the Jr. WNBA and Basketball Without Borders.
Collaborating to enhance player, coach and program development opportunities across Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) through expanded leadership, player health and on-court development programming.
Expect to see Nike grow their presence through various NBA/WNBA events such as the NBA Global Games, NBA All-Star, WNBA All-Star, the NBA Draft Combine, the WNBA Draft, WNBA Changemakers, the NBA Draft, NBA 2K Summer League and NBA G League Fall Invitational.
