New: Nike introduces the Sabrina 3

Nike officially introduced the Sabrina 3, a shoe made for hoopers from all over, giving them the tools to sharpen their skills to master their game. Nike builds off the success of the first two silhouettes in the line, but still providing some updates that’ll help you focus and improve your game every time out.

“I know every single basketball player who puts on the Sabrina 3 will continue to see and feel the work that we’ve put in to create the best performance shoe that we can,” says Sabrina. “This shoe represents so much of me, from the vertical Swoosh that we’ve had since the Sabrina 1 to the design touches personal to me. I hope it inspires all hoopers, especially young girls, helping them continue to break down barriers and believe in themselves.”

When we sat down with Ionescu and Ben Nethongkome, the design lead for the Sabrina 3, one thing we noticed were the mesh pleats found on the shoe’s upper. While it does make the shoe look even better, they do serve a purpose – they help house the cables that are found around the midfoot. This improves containment, strength and support.

The updated upper coupled with the forefoot Air Zoom unit and Cushlon 3.0 foam offers a very similar feel with the earlier silhouettes. Just like the previous iterations, the vertical off-axis Swoosh represents the glass ceilings Ionescu continues to shatter. Another update to the sig is the concentric “S” pattern found on the outsole.

“The Sabrina 3 builds on the consistency we’ve established with Sabrina’s first two signature silhouettes while evolving the look and feel of the shoe to match her needs on the court and further reflect her personal story and style,” says Ben Nethongkome, the lead designer for Sabrina’s footwear. “The Sabrina 1 and 2 made her signature line a go-to choice for hoopers around the world, and we wanted to keep that standout performance and consistency while helping make Sabrina, and the athletes who wear her shoe, even faster, stronger and more confident in every step.”

Expect to see a full range of apparel to go with the Sabrina 3 – from pants, hoodies, sweatshirts, shorts and tops – all made for women, men and kids.

The Nike Sabrina 3 collection is set to drop on July 24 at nike.com and select retail locations.
