New: Nike Basketball unveiled Devin Booker’s 2nd signature shoe, the Book 2

Posted on Nov 20, 2025 in Nike

With the first sneaker being a success, it was only right for Nike Basketball to follow it up with another one. Nike recently unveiled the next chapter in Devin Booker’s series, the Book 2.

Taking inspiration from skateboarding, vintage cars and classic Nike silhouettes, the Book 2 looks to be a modern classic hoop sneaker. Further improving on the 1st model, the low-profile sneaker comes with a forefoot Zoom Air unit and Cushlon 3.0 foam midsole complemented by a plush foam sock liner.

“A big thing for me was feeling the court and being a bit lower to the ground,” says Devin. “A lot of inspiration came from classic shoes. One that comes to mind for me is the Air Zoom Spiridon. With the early styles, I wanted to pay homage to Phoenix by starting with orange and black for the Phoenix and Rising colorways, giving fans something to rock at each game.”

For his 2nd sneaker, Devin looked at classic Nike silhouettes to come up with a shoe that’ll stay timeless regardless of eras. The current sneaker’s outsole is patterned similarly to the Air Force 1, but featuring a new-dappled herringbone traction pattern as a shout out to Phoenix, while cactus-inspired details and tiny asterisks (drawn by Devin himself), with a lateral outrigger for better support for those quick side-to-side movements on court.

Aside from the Air Force 1, Booker also looked at the Air Zoom Spiridon, with two upcoming Book 2 models featuring the Spirdon’s webbed mesh upper; while other models will have the molded upper for a more modern aesthetic, while providing a locked-in fit and solid midfoot support.

“For the Book 1, we were inspired by classic cars, where the engine is supercharged and tuned up but the outside looks classic,” says Ben Nethongkome, lead designer for Devin’s footwear. “That approach cascaded to the Book 2, cloaking the innovation underneath. We lowered the profile of the shoe for enhanced court feel, and because we removed materials to get lower to the ground, we were able to move the Air Zoom unit from the heel to the forefoot — achieving Devin’s desired feel and performance at a lighter weight.”

Throughout the series run, expect to see colorways that draw inspiration from his 11 seasons in Phoenix, his short but impactful UK stint and many more.

Also releasing alongside the Book 2 is an apparel collection done in a sun-faded look that celebrates his career in Phoenix. Devin and Nike designers experimented with applying different dyes, finishes and prints to various fabrics to see where they wanted to land creatively, which led them to a sun-faded look that celebrates life in the desert and all Devin has achieved there.

The collection applies classic basketball cuts to premium, heavyweight fabrics that are finished with laser etching for a rugged yet tailored fit and feel — creating an on-court vibe that extends seamlessly from the stadium tunnel to the street. The apparel collection includes long sleeve tees honoring Haven, Booker’s first Cane Corso mastiff, cutoff shirts, a woven jacket, game pants, and a brushed hoodie, shorts and pants.

The Nike Book 2 shoe and apparel collection is set to drop January 2026 at nike.com and select partner retailers.
