Closer Look: Air Max 2090
If you missed the live unboxing on Instagram (now available as part of our IGTV episodes), we unboxed the latest member in the Air Max numbered line, the Air Max 2090. A reimagination of the Air Max 90 while fusing the future of Air Max into one, the Air Max 2090 stays true to the original while keeping elements that’s design forward.
To be honest, I was unsure about the shoe. To me, the Air Max 90 was perfect just the way it was and didn’t need a ‘reimagination’. But Nike did a good job with the silhouette. Incorporating a larger Air unit and larger window, the Air Max 2090 solves one of the issues the Air Max 90 had over time: comfort. The underfoot experience and fit of the Air Max 2090 is pretty great. That, along with the translucent uppers keeps the shoe lightweight and comfortable. The speed lacing system is also a welcome addition to the sneaker, making it an easy wear, especially when you’re on the go.
We unboxed the lead colorway of the Air Max 2090 as well as a colorway found on the 2nd season (White/Volt/Valerian Blue/Black). I initially liked the first pair, but the Volt pair shows more definition and design vs the latter. Either way, both pairs look great and I can’t wait to see what else they do with the silhouette.
The Nike Air Max 2090 is now available across Nike Park and nike.com/ph for Php 7,195. The BeTrue colorway is priced a little higher at Php 7,645.
