Better than Ever: the Nike Air VaporMax 2019 is now available

Back in 2017, Nike unveiled a sneaker that changed how Air was utilized – the Air VaporMax. Through years of research, the original VaporMax unit has been tested through different users, climates and everything in between to get the best result for all types of users. And yet, Nike’s design team felt there was more to do to improve the technology.

Nike’s design team flew to Paris, London and Milan to get feedback from everyday athletes to learn what can be done to make it better. Through this, Nike nailed the consistency of ride and shock absorption with the Air unit, but learned there could be more structure and support in the upper.

With that, Nike released their solution to this – the Air VaporMax 2019. The updated sneaker remains to keep the most flexible and lightest Air Max unit due to the segmented Air sole, allowing the foot to move more naturally. The Air unit still sits directly underfoot, providing consistent cushioning for walking and running. It remains the most flexible and lightest Air Max thanks to the segmented Air sole that allows the foot to move more naturally than any previous Air unit. As mentioned, Nike reworked the upper by replacing Flyknit with Nexkin, a lightweight, translucent stretch-woven material that conforms to the foot, providing more structure and durability. You’ll also notice an internal cage that wraps the midfoot, providing support and lockdown. The TPU heel clip is also bigger and higher, providing more support for all-day wear. Lastly, Nike applied a TPU coating to the Air bag, giving a color-shifting aesthetic.

The Nike Air VaporMax 2019 is now available at the Athlete’s Foot, with each pair retailing for Php 9,445.
