New Balance debuts the KAWHI II during All-Star Weekend
New New.
With the NBA celebrating their 75th Anniversary this season and the All-Star Weekend happening in Cleveland this weekend, New Balance unveils their latest signature shoe, the New Balance KAWHI II.
Dropping the ‘New Money’ colorway for the third time, Grammy nominated musician and newly signed ambassador Jack Harlow will be wearing the shoe on-court during All-Star Celebrity Game, while Kawhi will be wearing it during the 75th Anniversary Ceremony on Sunday, February 20.
While the KAWHI was met with mixed reviews, the KAWHI II is a much lighter version compared to the I. The shoe features an updated performance plate that works with the full-length FuelCell midsole for amazing energy return. The shoe also features FitWeave Lite, a lightweight woven textile to give you a more customizable fit. The new material stretches to the user’s foot, while providing support where its needed.
“Kawhi wanted to honor his gameplay and deliver a shoe that spoke to him as an individual,” explains Jonathan Grondin, New Balance Design Director. “Together with our Sports Research Lab we developed innovative technologies for today’s basketball athlete in the new KAWHI II. Working with an athlete of Kawhi’s caliber is so exciting, he comes to every meeting with ideas we can truly create together and is always willing to do something different.”
Expect the KAWHI II to drop soon on our shores. Keep it locked here for more info on New Balance and the KAWHI II.
