MIZUNO PH SQUAD RUN 2018: Road to 42KM
Aside from unveiling the Wave Catalyst 2 and the Wave Shadow, Mizuno Philippines also announced the return of the Squad Run this 2018. For those who aren’t familiar, Mizuno’s Squad Run is a series of long runs done every weekend for 3 months with the end goal of running the marathon distance of 42km. Along with Mizuno PH, runners are now with a community of long distance runners that are passionate about the sport. Registration opened last July 11 but you can still sign up by clicking here.
The Squad Run 2018 will be led by Mizuno’s lineup of coaches: Ige Lopez, Pat Joson, Nhea Barcena and George Vilog. Here’s where you can find them in the coming months:
- BGC – Coach Ige/Coach Nhea
- Alabang – Coach Pat
- Tarlac/Cavite – Coach George
An assessment run will be done to see who can or cannot keep up with the coaches’ pace. Once the official sessions begin, the runs will be focused on getting the longest distance covering a certain time frame (month 1 – 1.5 hrs, month 2 – 1.5 to 2.5 hrs, month 3- 3hrs). The Squad Run aims to have its runners eventually run a 42k. Prizes from Mizuno are at stake for those runners who continuously improve and attend the sessions. There will be Milestone runs happening throughout and what’s great is that Mizuno is raffling off some slots tot he Osaka Marathon. Raffle entries may be obtained by purchasing Mizuno running shoes at SRP. The raffle duration will be from July 13, 2018 to August 16, 2018.
