Pick Up or Drop: Jordan Aerospace 720
Ever since Jordan branched out of Nike in the late 90s, their goal was to create a full-fledged sports brand, which didn’t just cater to basketball. Signing athletes like Roy Jones Jr, Derek Jeter and Dez Bryant, Jordan wanted to offer something for everyone. Through the years, we’ve seen JB produce runners, trainers, and even boxing boots. From athletes, this led them to sign other riders, sports teams and the like. Eventually, they would offer the whole suite, from performance to lifestyle sneakers.
While we did see some hits through the years (the Trunner, Racer, to name a few), there were some that didn’t quite hit the mark. We also saw Jordan pull technologies from Nike, as they released the Proto-Max, Proto-React and the Mars 270. Over the last few weeks, they introduced their latest sneaker – the Jordan Aerospace 720.
As Nike released their tallest Air unit for the Air Max 720 and OBJ 720 models, Jordan pulls the the Air bag and added them to their silhouette. Releasing three colorways echoing Jordan’s legacy, the Aerospace 720 evokes the future while staying true to the brand’s promise. To be honest, we’re still on the fence with these joints. While it does check all the boxes in terms of tech and innovation, but do we really need another another chunky high top?
The only way to really find out is to try them on. Whether you pick up the PSGs, ROTYs or the classic Chicago colorway, the Jordan Aerospace 720 definitely appeals to a certain audience. Drop by Titan, Nike Forum or Capital to pick these up.
