New New: the Air Jordan XI ‘Varsity Red’ is here

It’s that time of the year, fellas.

Since 2009, it’s been a holiday tradition to pick up one of Jordan Brand’s most beloved sneaker silhouettes of all time, the Air Jordan XI. From OG colorways (Concord, Breds, SJs, Columbias, Cool Greys) to newer colorways introduced over the last 13 years (Jubilee, Win Like series, Legend Blue, 72-10, etc),the Air Jordan XI has been synonymous to being the holiday shoe for Jordan fans all over. This season, Jordan Brand is introducing a new colorway inspired by one of the more beloved colorways of the Jordan lore – the Varsity Red aka ‘Cherry’.

“Haven’t we seen this before?” Maybe as a special PE, a low top edition, but never done on the Mid and never as a general release to the public. JB takes on the classic colors his Airness rocked during his Chicago days, making for a glimpse of what MJ could’ve worn during that second threepeat.

In terms of the shoe’s design, shiny Varsity Red patent leather wrapping around the base, similar to previous iterations of the Air Jordan 11. The rest of the upper is made of mesh and leather, with the Jumpman logo found on the heel as well as MJ’s 23 on the back heel. JUMPMAN JORDAN can be found on the embroidered strip by the tongue.The shoe is finished off with the frosted semi-translucent outsoles.
