New: Jayson Tatum unveils the Jordan Tatum 1
What a good day to debut the Tatum 1.
As we’ve shared time and time again, expect drops and debuts during All-Star Weekend. Jordan Brand and Jayson Tatum made it extra special, unveiling his first signature shoe with the brand, the Tatum 1. With its unique construction, the shoe is the lightest shoe in the performance line this season.
Looking for a shoe that feels more connected to his foot, the Tatum 1’s goal was to be lightweight yet completely secure for the next generation. The shoe features a solid TPU frame that is wrapped by a ground-contact foam, which acts as an additional traction pattern. You’ll notice in the shoe’s design that there’s minimal rubber on the toe area, just how Jayson likes it. For cushioning, you’ll see a large uncaged Zoom Air bag in the forefoot. The upper uses a mesh knit, keeping it lightweight, while the collar is padded for added ankle support.
One thing that Tatum wanted is to have added attention to the kids’ design. He wanted their version that was easy to wear, so they created a collapsible heel system to make it easier. The kids’ shoe will also feature zonal rubber tooling on the outsole, making the shoe extra durable. The forefoot Zoom Air bag is also not present in their edition to keep it comfortable.
During this Sunday’s unveiling, Jordan Brand showcased four colorways, two of which Tatum wore during the All-Star Game, where he scored 55 points (an All-Star scoring record) en route to bringing home the MVP trophy wearing his new shoe.
The Tatum 1 releases April 7 in full family sizing. Keep it locked here for more info on the pricing for this shoe.
