Jordan Brand unveils the NBA 2018 All-Star Edition Uniforms
Earlier today, LeBron James and Stephen Curry drafted their teams for this year’s 2018 NBA All-Star Game. This is the first time the NBA has gone to a new format, having the team captains pick their teams. This is also the first time that the players will wear Jordan Brand for the game. As they picked the teams, Jordan Brand also unveiled their first-ever NBA All-Star Edition uniforms. The brand also unveiled several products at the Future of Flight space that will be open til the All-Star Weekend (more on the products later).
Similar to the 2015 game, Jordan Brand decided to go clean with a black and white color scheme, featuring the All-Star’s team logo in the front and a font inspired by Los Angeles street sign typography. Other key design elements include the Jumpman logo, “All-Star Edition” scripted above the size tag and knit tape debossed stars down each side that pay tribute to past All-Star uniforms.
“Jordan Brand has always been fearless when it comes to pushing the boundaries of innovation and style,” said Jordan Brand VP of Design, David Creech. “The Jordan Brand NBA All-Star Edition uniform embodies that attitude with a distinctive look. Our goal was to combine the street-premium Jordan sportswear feel with Los Angeles style for a jersey that looks just as good on the court as off it. We’re excited to see this year’s NBA All-Stars represent their teams in Jordan style on the biggest, brightest stage.”
Aside from the All-Star Edition jersey, it’s been 30 years since MJ won the ’88 Slam Dunk Contest and the All-Star Game MVP. In commemoration of this feat, Jordan Brand also created a commemorative Chicago Bulls jersey done in both black and white. Here’s hoping the NBA Store, Titan and other Nike/NBA doors carry these sick All-Star Edition jerseys in two weeks!
