What’s New: Foot Locker is opening their doors in the Philippines this December
We’ve heard rumblings over the last few months, but didn’t want to believe it until we heard official word on it.
Well, it’s here.
PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk (MAPI), Indonesia’s leading lifestyle retailer today announced an expansion to its partnership with global sports and lifestyle retailer Foot Locker, Inc. to operate Foot Locker offline and online stores in the Philippines under PT Map Active Adiperkasa Tbk (MAPA), a wholly owned subsidiary of MAPI.
As early as the mid 2000s, there were talks of Foot Locker expanding their reach in the region, especially after opening doors in neighboring countries. With MAPA been in the market the past year, they’re looking to expand their reach through one of the most famous footwear stores in Foot Locker. The first Foot Locker Power Store is set to open at Glorietta in December 2022.
“We are excited to announce our partnership with Foot Locker, Inc. This new alignment allows us to bring the culture of youth active lifestyle and sneaker enthusiasts to Philippines to the highest standard. We are very delighted and honored that Foot Locker has entrusted MAPA to provide the best experience for its customers both offline and online. We look forward to bringing together new standards that have never been achieved in retail in the Philippines.” said V.P. Sharma, CEO of MAP Group.
What does this mean for local sneakerheads? Will we eventually get a House of Hoops and all their HOH exclusives? Only time will tell. But what this means is that sneaker fans are getting another door to satisfy their sneaker craving. Keep it locked here for more info with regards to Foot Locker’s plans.
