Team Game: adidas partners with Juventus for the A-ZX Project
It’s a shame that all these so-called adidas fans or loyalists can’t seem to move away from Boost.
Over the last few months, adidas has been releasing so many solid pairs that fall to the way side simply because they do not possess the coveted cushioning platform. In fact, one great example of this would be the ongoing A-ZX series by adidas Originals.
Over the last month, we’ve seen every scheduled release from the project drop in the Philippines (sure, it’s currently via adidas’ webstore, but Commonwealth is slated to release the products as well). If you’re keeping tabs on the 26-pair program, adidas has released the following:
R is for Retro: ZX 1000 ‘Retro’
S is for Superstar: ZX 8000 ‘Superstar’
Np is for National Parks: ZX 5000 ‘National Parks’
At is for atmos: ZX 8000 ‘atmos’
To kick things off this September, adidas flips the script by not partnering with retailers or using iconic silhouettes from its archive, but partnered with iconic football institution Juventus FC. Using the ZX 6000 for their silhouette, the shoe comes in the club’s colors with a nod to their latest kit done in orange (see image above).
The ZX 6000 ‘Juventus’ comes in premium Italian leather, with rolled seams, leather lining and waxed laces. The black and white color blocking shines through and accented by the orange laces, a nod to the aforementioned kit. The shoe is finished off with co-branded sockliners as well as the club’s J logo on the heel.
The adidas ZX 6000 ‘Juventus’ is now available via adidas.com.ph and retails for Php 8,000. If you’re a true fan of the club, this should be the shoe from the A-ZX series in your rotation. If you wish to purchase the shoe, click here.
