Perfect for Everyday Running – adidas unveils the Solarglide 5
With the borders and guidelines slowly easing up, this might be the best time to jumpstart your fitness regimen. I’m sure a majority of us are done with our ‘indoor workouts’ and ready to take on the roads and parks around the metro. True to form, adidas recently unveiled their latest shoe, the Solarglide 5.
The Solarglide 5 is the perfect everyday running shoe, stable for any type of road or terrain, while keeping it earth-friendly without sacrificing energy return. The superior energy return is attributed to the Bubble Boost midsole and works in tandem with the LEP 2.0 (an update to the brand’s trusty Torsion system), offering the runner a smooth ride. The Control Platform is a full-top loaded EVA platform, which aids for the smooth transition.
Similar to the Ultraboost 22, the Solarglide 5 features elements designed specifically for the female runner in mind. During the development period, adidas saw to it to get feedback and run tests to best provide the best possible fit for her.
In continuing with adidas’ goal to help end plastic waste, the Solarglide 5 is kitted with the brand’s Primeblue knit upper which is made in part with Parley Ocean Plastic. Re-imagined plastic waste was used for the yarn, thus helping clean up oceans while the rest of the upper is made with recycled polyester.
Simon Lockett, Category Director Footwear, adidas Running, said: “We’re constantly looking forways to evolve and enhance the Solarglide franchise. Compared to previous Solarglide models, we’ve introduced a number of new features including an updated LEP and a Circular Knit upper – zoned for a more adaptive and comfortable fit. Ultimately, we’ve created a shoe designed to be the new front door favorites – a shoe bursting with energy and everyday stable guidance.”
The adidas Solarglide 5 is now available and retails for Php 8,000. To purchase the shoe, you can click here to be redirected to adidas.com.ph.
