New: adidas Originals remixes an Icon with the Superstar XLG
It’s been 54 years since adidas introduced the Superstar and it continues to an icon to this day. This July, adidas reinvents the classic, making them more applicable to the next generation of game changers, the Superstar XLG.
The remixed silhouette looks awfully the same upon first glance, but the updated silhouette features a leather upper, an EVA sockliner, an elevated platform outsole and a retooled shell-toe.
To banner in the reinvented classic, adidas created a bunch of shorts, directed by Maria Sosa Betancor, stills captured by Javier Ruiz, and styling from Ahida Agirre. Traveling through a series of contemporary ‘cores’ – Cluttercore, Cybercore, and Streetcore – the campaign follows as a cast of creative figures finds their individual style with the Superstar XLG as their tool for optimistic self-expression.
The adidas Originals Superstar XLG is now available via https://www.adidas.com.ph/originals as well as selected retail stores. The shoe retails for Php 6,500 and is available in men’s and women’s sizes.
