New: adidas Originals and Wales Bonner: the Rift Valley Runners

Wheels keep turning.

adidas Originals and Wales Bonner return this season with their latest collection inspired by the enduring legacy of East African runners. Iten, Kenya proved to be the training ground of champions and this collection is an ode to their resilience, endurance, and dedication.

Similar to the great work Wales Bonner has put up in past seasons, the latest collection takes on the archives but puts a spin by using elevated materials, prints and patterns. Tracksuits and running singlets take on a lifestyle spin, while the rest of the apparel collection comes in bold colorways.

On the footwear front, Wales Bonner bring in 3 silhouettes – the SL 76 (the younger sibling of the SL 72), Samba and Samba Millenium. The mesh and suede runner is done in yellow with black stripes while the other pair is light blue with black stripes. The classic Samba comes in two colorways with updated materials. Lastly, a new silhouette to the range – the Samba Millenium – comes in two distinct makeups – one with a leather heel while the other dons a blue pony hair heel.

To showcase the new collection, adidas linked up with photographer Viviane Sassen and filmmaker Steven Traylor further focusing on these Kenyan runners. The film showcases adidas runners including Emmanuel Wanyonyi, Bethwel Yegon, Nelly Chepchirchir, Charles Simotwo, Cornelius Kemboi and Barselius Kipyego. The visuals reference archival sports advertising campaigns, depicting the magic of human endeavor.

The adidas Originals by Wales Bonner Spring/Summer 2024 collection drops on Tuesday, May 21 via adidas.com.ph, the adidas app and the adidas Brand Center.
