NEW: adidas Basketball unveils their 2023 COLLECTION: CHAPTER 01

Think of it as a rejig or a realignment.

Let’s be real and call it as it is — adidas Basketball’s been awfully quiet over the last few months. Sure, we got the Jappy Agoncillo’s DON Issue 3s and JG4 dropping by, but the category’s been keeping mum outside of their signature basketball offerings (Dame 8, Trae 2, and DON Issue 4s).

Earlier this week, adidas Basketball officially unveiled their 2023 Collection: Chapter 01. Signs of life!

The 2023 Collection: Chapter 01 is the brand’s re-introduction, providing premium offering that focuses on that hooper’s lifestyle beyond the court. The collection features a swell of luxury sportswear all done in a muted palette, ranging from sweats, tracksuits, sleveless shirts, shorts and more. At the heart of the collection is that “Remember the Why” ethos – steering clear of the noise and focusing on what is essential yet intentional.

To banner in the collection, adidas Basketball also launched a film entitled Chapter 01: “Remember The Why”. The short film is produced by creative agency Johannes Leonardo and brought to life by the avant-garde perspective of ILLIMITÉWORLD. The film follows an unknown hooper through all the distractions of success until he finds ultimate serenity on a deserted court where it’s nothing but him, the ball and a hoop.

“You never forget the first time you pick up a basketball,” says Eric Wise, adidas Basketball’s Global General Manager. “That day connected me to the game forever. At adidas Basketball, we believe that possibilities are endless when you know your why. We hope that this new era of adidas Basketball will remind everyone that the most important part of doing anything is why you started in the first place.”
