Made In Manila, Made for the World: adidas launches their QUICCS Manila Tees

Posted on Oct 22, 2020 in Adidas

After seeing special NanoTEQs drop alongside special Superstar releases for its 50th anniversary, adidas Philippines and Quiccs unveiled the first of manila collaborations lined up with the Quiccs Manila Tee Pack. As the Brand with the Three Stripes continue to push creator culture across territories, this collaboration truly folds in that its made in Manila, and made for the world.

For those of you living under a rock, Quiccs is local toy designer and graffiti artist who’s made a name for himself over the last decade or so. His designer toys fold in his love for Japanese robots, hiphop and graffiti culture into one. Quiccs is actually the first Filipino Creator that adidas PH has partnered with for locally designed adidas products.

The three tees seen below make up the Quiccs Manila Tee Pack. They will release in limited quantities across retailers and adidas stores, each featuring Quiccs’ most popular character – the TEQ63 -wearing adidas gear in the country’s colors. Quiccs also mentioned that he grew up loving basketball, something most Filipinos are into as well. It seemed fitting that the first collection are also under the brand’s basketball range.

As a long-time fan of the brand himself, you’ll notice his characters rocking the Three Stripes, be it in his favorite silhouette, the adidas Superstar, or in track suits usually worn by hip hop and basketball heads since the late 70s.

“Even before this partnership, adidas already influenced much of my work. My first TEQ63 toy even wore a pair of Superstars, which was inspired by how I’ve been wearing Superstars since my teen years,” said Quiccs.

Aside from the previous Superstar/NanoTEQ releases and the Tees, Quiccs’ art also can be seen in the newly opened adidas Neighborhood store in Greenbelt 5, Makati.

“Because creation never stops at adidas, this partnership is just the start for us. We’re excited for this chance to inspire the next generation of Creators and look forward to more opportunities to foster local art through future collaborations,” added Jen Dacasin, adidas Philippines’ Brand Communications and Sports Marketing Manager.

The adidas x Quiccs Manila Tee pack will be available in select adidas stores and partner retailers starting October 23. You can also grab the tees now (October 22) via adidas.com.ph, the adidas app, Titan22.com, the Titan App, and Titan One Bonifacio.
