Introducing the adidas Arkyn: built for the next generation rule breakers

Posted on Apr 4, 2018 in Adidas

adidas is definitely taking advantage of the spotlight, releasing new silhouettes to further build on their lifestyle line. After the Prophere and the Deerupt, adidas brings us the third silhouette in the women’s exclusive, the Arkyn. The brand cosigns the shoe built for the next generation of rule breakers.
If you think about it, it’s about time for the brand to come up with a sneaker that’s specifically made for women, and not go down the route of retooling a men’s sneaker with female-friendly attributes. Just like their winning silhouettes, the designers took inspiration from their archive but also the future. The Arkyn is playful, unexpected and chic. As the brand puts it, the Arkyn is a canvas for expression and embraces difference.
The shoe is made up of a technical mesh upper, with the 3-stripe mark and mesh tongue. As mentioned previously, the shoe features a neoprene heel and a unique lacing system, both stepping up the shoe’s design and aesthetic while Boost cushioning keeps the shoe comfortable.
To banner in the Arkyn, adidas tapped 5 female creators (Kendall Jenner (above), Ana Kras, Marisa Competello, Syv de Blare, and Florencia Galarza) who embody this new-school thinking. These creators come from all walks of life and have mastered different disciplines. To celebrate their individuality and authenticity as style and thought leaders, the 5 were shot in their real living and working spaces, truly showing their real character.
The adidas Arkyn drops tomorrow, April 5th, at adidas Originals stores (and adidas PH online) and partner retailers such as Sole Academy, Commonwealth, Capital, and the The Athlete’s Foot while retailing for Php 7,300. The Cloud White and Steel are expected to be available across most retailers while the Core Black and Ash Pearl are sure to release via the online store.
