adidas is set to release the SOLAR HU Glide this Tuesday

After releasing the SolarHU NMD and Tennis HU a couple of weeks back, adidas and Pharrell hit us up with a new set to close out September. Instead of using Originals silhouettes this time around, Pharrell takes on one of the brand’s latest running shoes, the SOLAR HU Glide. Utilizing rich and bold patterns from East Africa, Pharrell continues to preach equality, justice, and self-confidence, which goes perfectly with the sport of a running – an activity with one of the lowest barriers of entry across the globe.

“Africa is a beautiful continent and the origin of civilization,” Pharrell said. “Running is a state of meditation. Why not go back to the motherland and take inspiration from such a vivid and rich culture? Why not create a tribute to this incredible sport? Why can’t the shoe that people wear on the street have a performance function? This is what we sought to achieve with this collection.”

Two of the three pairs will be made available in the PH on Tuesday, September 25th. Hu branding is embroidered on its toe box to go with the bright and bold colors found throughout. The adidas Solar Hu Glide retails for Php 6,500 and will be available at adidas PH online, adidas Fort, Greenbelt, Trinoma, and Rockwell.
