New: Classic’s Back: PUMA’s bringing the Suede back this season

You can’t deny the classics. This season, PUMA Philippines is bringing one of the more timeless silhouettes from their library back into rotation – the PUMA Suede – in two iterations, the PUMA Suede Classic and the PUMA Suede Bloom.

One Legacy, Many Cultures

When the shoe debuted back in 1968, the Suede was initially dubbed the PUMA Crack (during the ’68 Mexico Games), where it was popularly worn by track star Tommie Smith on the podium. In 1973, PUMA and NBA star Waly ‘Clyde’ Frazier reimagined to create the PUMA Clyde, which was then renamed back to the PUM Suede to highlight the material on the shoe’s upper.

The silhouette was then adopted by the B-boy crews all over, especially in the UK. There, it was renamed the PUMA States, to honor its overseas success. Regardless of culture and age, the PUMA Suede has been an icon in sports, music and streetwear.

A Timeless Silhouette for Self-Expression

The PUMA Suede Classic comes in three colorways – Haute Coffee-PUMA White, PUMA Black-PUMA White, and Cayenne Pepper-PUMA White. Featuring a premium full-suede upper, a leather PUMA Formstrip, and a matching suede heel overlay.

Something new this season is the PUMA Suede Bloom. The shoe features faux pearl-inspired detailing, bead-accented laces and a more feminine look to the iconic design.

Like the PUMA Suede Classic, the PUMA Suede Bloom comes in three colorways for its launch – the PUMA Black-Slate Sky, Misty Pink-Powder Pink, and Frosted Ivory/Silver Fog.

The PUMA Suede Classic and Suede Bloom are now available at PUMA.com, PUMA flagship stores nationwide and select official retail partners and will retail for Php 5,500.
