LeBron James has been playing professional baskeball more than half his life and we’re definitely here for it. For a player of his stature, pressure isn’t anything new. But for James, pressure presents opportunity.
The LeBron XXII comes from decades embracing, channeling and rising above pressure. As James looks on to the next generation, this shoe echoes that need for the, but calling to the forefront of thriving under this pressure than avoiding it.
“We engineered the LeBron XXII to match his powerful and agile playing style,” says Ross Klein, Senior Director, Men’s Basketball Footwear Product Design. “To move with the force and precision LeBron needs, we focused on delivering maximum lockdown control, all while maintaining the speed, lightweight feel and court connection that he’s loved in his recent signature models.”
There are a couple of things new to the overall construction to LeBron’s signature shoe. The LeBron XXII features a new midfoot saddle construction which acts as a guardrail and offers a great sense of control and stability. Cushlon 2.0 foam encompasses the midsole with Zoom Air found on the heel and forefoot for responsiveness. Following previous sigs, the XXII comes in a low-top build, offeirng unrestricted movement but still maintaining control. The outsole features unique traction zones to support key movements that you normally take in a game.
