New: Vans’ Skate Classic Collection honors Past, Present and Future Skateboarding Icons

Posted on Oct 7, 2024 in Vans

Steve Caballero and Geoff Rowley.

Those two names shouldn’t be a question, right? These skateboarding icons have been around for quite some time and Vans Skateboarding decided to bring these two along with nine of today’s riders to celebrate the Skate Half Cab and Skate Rowley. We’ve heard of the Half Cab and Rowley before but the brand has modernized these silhouettes for today’s skate scene.

The Skate Pro Half Cab – Php 6,498

The original Half Cab first released in 1992, which was an iteration of the OG Caballero, which skaters would cut using scissors and duct tape. The Rowley dropped in 1999, a slimmer silhouette that attracted skaters that were looking to shift from the cup-soled pairs they were used to skate it in before that.

From L-R: Zion Wright, Geoff Rowley, Daiki Hoshino, Dick Rizzo, Breana Geering, Rome Collyer

Vans tapped Breana Geering, Daiki Hoshino, Zion Wright, Rome Collyer, Dick Rizzo, Curren Caples, Nelly Morville, Diego Todd, and Pedro Delfino, the last of whom is also receiving his own Skate Half Cab colorway. The two (Caballero and Rowley) take the group to their favorite spots in California, encouraging them to evolve those spots’ legacy by displaying their own skill and creativity — writing a new chapter that will, in turn, push the next generation of skaters to further evolve on what’s already been accomplished.

These new silhouettes features PopCush insoles, which offer better support, responsiveness, and impact protection, while reinforced Duracap rubber for durability. These new pairs also are equipped with SickStick outsoles for better grip and board feel. Both styles are done up in a mixture of black and purple with a jolt of energy supplied by hot pink accents.

Both the Skate Pro Half Cab Purpe and Skate Rowley Purple are now available at select Vans stores nationwide and through the Vans PH chat store on Viber.
