New: adidas SPZL celebrates their 10th anniversary with the Decade Pack
After releasing the Pre-Spring/Summer 2024 collection last month, adidas SPZL continues their 10th anniversary celebration with the DECADE pack. The collection is an ode to the brand’s archival line, which focuses on four silhouettes from the past 10 years – the Garwen SPZL, the Lacombe SPZL, the Blackburn SPZL, and the Ardwick SPZL.
The Garwen SPZL is originally inspired by the adidas Brisbane. The shoe is now done in a light brown, putty and gum colorway. Uppers are made with premium leather and suede, while accented by a metal Trefoil branding.
The Lacombe SPZL has been one of the notable silhouettes from the SPZL line throughout the years. The shoe’s back for the DECADE pack, now in white, chalk white with dark blue accents on the tongue and heel tab. The shoe does feature some new elements, such as a breathable mesh tongue as well as patent leather branding on it (some Made in France pairs had the same design element). Lastly, the shoe also features a suede toe bumper, a style seen on a lot of classic court shoes from adidas.
Over the last decade, the Blackburn SPZL has been a fan favorite, so much so that people lined up overnight when they first dropped in 2019. This release combines the two previous iterations of the Blackburn SPZL, now done in a forest green suede upper with a night navy tongue and flock stripes. Golf foil prints done on the Lancashire rose and SPZL Mod trefoil (one of the best adidas logos ever made, if you ask me) finish off the shoe’s design.
The Ardwick SPZL were first introduced back in 2014 with a 500 pair run in partnership with Manchester store Oi Polloi. Also a must-have for SPZL fans, the anniversary edition comes with an updated shape, reworked T toe, new tongue branding, flock stripes and revised brown foxing set against the moss green colorway. Staying true to the original 2014 version, the upper uses a reversed leather giving individual fluctuations in the colour from pair to pair.
The adias SPZL DECADE pack is set to drop on the 24th of May via select retailers. We’ve yet to get confirmation if they are releasing in the PH due to its limited run. You can still pick up the adidas SPZL Pre-Spring/Summer 2024 collection via the adidas app, adidas.com.ph and atmos PH.
