Origin Story: Jappy Agoncillo creates a special adidas D.O.N. Issue #3 for the PH

After releasing the adidas City Shop “Manila Hoops” tee a couple of days ago, adidas PH continues with their collaboration with Filipino muralist and illustrator Jappy Agoncilo. After Quiccs’ Harden Vol.5, Quiccs Forum, and Egg Fiasco’s Ultraboost DNA, Agoncillo blesses us with his work on All-Star Donovan Mitchell’s latest shoe, the D.O.N. Issue #3.

Inspired by Filipinos’ vibrant street style, Jappy’s love for superhero comic books, and the heroic origin of 3-time All-Star Mitchell, the “Origin Story” pays homage to both Donovan and Jappy’s roots.

“The concept of the design is about honoring the past and looking towards the future. Taking inspiration from how D.O.N. was named after Donovan Mitchell’s ‘Determination Over Negativity’ mantra, the design pays homage not only to the history of wins and losses of Donovan, but also the endless possibilities that the future has in store with continuous hard work and determination,” said Jappy Agoncillo. 

The D.O.N. Issue #3 “Origin Story” is the 4th Filipino-designed adidas shoe and will retail for Php 5,800. The shoe will be available first at the adidas Brand Center and adidas.com.ph beginning June 10 (Friday), and will be available in other adidas stores across the Philippines and SEA on June 12.
