The energy from Barcelona inspires the Jordan Zoom ’92

Posted on Aug 7, 2020 in Jordan Brand

If you want to pinpoint a single moment in basketball where it truly blew up, we can all look at the Summer Olympics in Barcelona back in 1992. MJ and the Dream Team made the game truly global, giving fans across the world a taste of how beautiful the game could be. During that summer, the heat on feet continued on, as the Air Jordan VII, Air Max 180, and the Air Force 5 were on the feet of the greatest athletes to ever play the game. These three silhouettes gave birth to the Jordan Zoom ’92.

The Zoom ’92 uses visual and functional details from all three pairs, but now born with new blood for 2020. The layers of the Air Jordan VII can be seen on the upper, as well as the ‘9’ heel badge placed on the molded heel, as his Airness wore the number with Team USA. Both the Air Max 180 and Air Force 5’s visual elements can be seen throughout the sneaker as well. The forefoot Zoom Air bag situated under the ball of your foot gives responsive cushioning, pretty much like the more recent Zoom Air-equipped basketball silhouettes.

The Jordan Zoom ’92 is now available in the ‘Anthracite’ and ‘USA’ colorways. The ‘Sail’ colorway is slated to drop tomorrow, August 8, via nike.com/ph. The shoe retails for Php 7,795.
