Our Pick: Nike Blazer Mid ’77 Suede
While we’re all licking our chops from another dose of L’s this morning from today’s release (Nike SBs and the Air Max 90 Duck Camo), you might want to focus your attention to other silhouettes available on nike.com such as this — the Nike Blazer Mid ’77 Suede.
Before the Air Force 1, Dunk or the Air Jordan I, the Blazer patrolled the courts and were on the feet of Nike athletes such as the Black Superman (Billy Ray Bates), World B Free, and the ‘Iceman’ George Gervin. When the shoe debuted, the Blazer was dressed in leather uppers, mesh nylon tongues and its vulcanized soles. Come 1977, the Blazer’s best looking iteration was made, with additional leather patches on the side panels to go with those oversized Swooshes.
For this week’s release, the Blazer Mid ’77 Vintage now comes in suede, a true nod to those early years of Nike and old school basketball. With its vintage midsole finish (it’s really a hit or miss on certain silhouettes), and now padded collar, the Blazer is the low-key sneaker you should be rocking on the daily these days.
The Nike Blazer Mid ’77 Suede is now available at nike.com/ph for Php 4,995. If you’re not a fan of suede sneakers, the Blazer Mid 77 Vintage in white/black is also available here.
