VARSITY HEAT: WEEK 4
Just like that, UAAP Season 82’s 1st Round is in the books. While we’re in support of the preparation for the SEA Games, this only means one things for the UAAP die-hards: we only have as much as 8 weeks left in the UAAP season. Let that sink in. A maximum of 8 weeks. But we’re not salty about that. We’re happy with just seeing what’s on feet this week for Varsity Heat.
CUSTOMS, CUSTOMS, CUSTOMS
Just like their NBA and PBA counterparts, customs sneakers are becoming a thing in the UAAP. First, we saw Thirdy and Ricci Rivero wear customs earlier in the month, but Week 4 was filled with customs, with Shaun Ildefonso doing a double draw, along with Brent Paraiso, and Ricci Rivero. Shaun takes the cake this week, as his Black Panther customs are one of the better ones we’ve seen all season long.
KING EAGLE FOR THE FUTURE?
SJ Belangel’s sophomore season’s been great. His progression as Matt Nieto’s understudy has made him a crucial part of the Tab Baldwin system. Lately, he’s been on our #VarsityHeat radar as well. After last week’s Taco Kyrie 5s, SJ surprises us with the Blue Devil Kyrie 5s during their game against UE earlier this week.
CAP’S KILLIN’ IT
UP FIGHT
Varsity Heat wouldn’t be complete without the Heat from Diliman. Juan Gomez De Liano, Ricci Rivero and Kobe Paras came to play yesterday as they brought the heat on court. From Juan’s Kyrie 5s to Kobe’s BYW Xs, UP’s now a weekly staple.
