VARSITY HEAT: WEEK 2
A couple of nailbiters, an upset, a possible Finals preview and 2 OT games. That’s Week 2 of UAAP Season 82 in a nutshell. These are just several reasons why people tune in to the UAAP even if they’re not from any of the 8 schools participating during the games. The Kicks, ofcourse, is one more reason why we tune in. We’ve seen some of the best show out, bringing heat to match their game. Here’s Week 2 of Varsity Heat, presented by SLAM Philippines, Sole Movement, Kickspotting and Buhay Basket.
MAROONS WITH THE HEAT
The UP Maroons only had 1 game this week, but they definitely turned things up with the W. Not only did they win their matchup against Adamson, the boys had mad heat on their feet. Check out Juan GDL, Kobe Paras and Ricci Rivero during yesterday’s game.
CHAUCA WATCH WEEK 2
Valandre Chauca’s been a crucial cog in Coach Franz Pumaren’s system. Whether it’s directing the offense or being the main man behind it, Chauca’s been one of the bright spots in this very young UAAP season. It definitely helps when you’ve got some serious kicks to back your game up.
20-20 MENTALITY
While we do have a stacked foreign student-athlete lineup, one of the notable ones is UST’s Soulemane Chabi Yo. The 6-6 pogo stick gave Ange Kouame fits and gave Issa Gaye the businesswith the 23pt-20reb outing to get the W in OT. Was it an occurrence that he had some Kobes on?
WORLDSTAR AHANMISI
Jerrick Ahanmisi’s been one Franz Pumaren’s constants these past 4 years. We’re just happy we get to see Ahanmisi shoot the lights out every week. In line with the FIBA World Cup, Jerrick broke out the Pro Bounce 2019 Low ‘Ball Around the World’ colorway.
BONUS!
While we do know who wore these Zero Gravitys to the game the other day, let’s see if you’ve been following the Heat this season.
