Sneaker Expedition- South

Nothing. Nike had some good shirts but that was it. If you were looking for basketball sneakers, maybe. But lifestyle sneakers were nowhere to be found. A few steps from Nike’s outlet was adidas’. There were a couple of ZX runners and FOTW pairs that were possible but once I looked at the price, they were still not cheap enough(ok, call me cheap. but I saw the same pairs at the C5 outlet store and they were much cheaper). Pit stop 1- unsuccessful.
An exit after Sta. Rosa was Mamplasan. This exit holds the Sports Warehouse/Planet Sports outlet. The place has seen better days but if you’re really looking for a pair of decently priced kicks and apparel, this’ll do. A lot of people know of this branch as it was pretty much packed on a saturday afternoon. Again, there was nothing worth copping and this southern sneaker trip is slowly becomming a bomb.
Third time’s a charm. Last stop was the adidas C5 factory outlet. This is fairly new store and was able to get a ZX lux edition at 60% off the price a few weeks back. My brother was determined to get something. I was just controlling myself from picking up a fourth pair this holiday break. Sneakers here were in good condition, good selection and sizes were many.
I stopped myself from getting a pair but ended up with a shirt. My bro bought a ZX700 jamaican edition (sneaker on top) that looked spiffy as hell. Price? 1800. Not bad right? There were a couple of pairs whispering in my ear, teasing me in taking them with me to the counter. I even tried on a ZX 700 boat shoe. Yeah, the ZX family had the boat shoe thing going on and the sneaker was 65% off– 5000 to 1500. Was I wrong in not picking it up? I believe the store opens in a few hours and I might be able to still pick it up before heading home today….no! I promised myself not to buy another pair until one pair goes to sneaker heaven.
After conquering the North and the South, which had better sneaker bins? I think the North had better stops, but if you don’t have the patience of covering the SCTEX and the NLEX, then the C5 store is the stop for you.
