adidas: 60 years of soles and stripes

Man! It’s been a while since I’ve posted something about sneakers. Anyways, I’ve been on the down low and I haven’t really done my research as much as I would like to. Anyways, adidas is celebrating something monumental this year. The year 2009 marks the 60th anniversary of the adidas Originals iconic 3-Stripes Trefoil mark introduced by company founder Adi Dassler (I don’t know if you’ve noticed but Puma, founded by Adi’s brother Rudolf, is also celebrating their 60th year as well). To celebrate this milestone, adidas Originals will host the 6009 House Party Celebrating Originality on February 27, 2009 at the Embassy Supperclub to kick start a year-long celebration of Originality. Mark your calendars as this will concurrently happen in four other countries- Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore.

Adidas Originals has been in the country the past few years but this year will definitely be a big one.
Throughout the year, adidas will showcase different interpretations of 60 years of soles and stripes. With a broad spectrum of highlight themes tucked under the brand’s belt, the anniversary collection will be topped off by a new partnership with Italian pop icon scooter manufacturer Vespa. If you drop by their store at Trinoma, you’ll see the new collections already available.

Ive seen the collection at the Originals store a few months back via their Spring/Summer 09 catalog. The whole 60 years line is pretty awesome. What I would like to see though is their Consortium pack that should release sometime 1st quarter of 09. Consortium packs are always hard to find and best for collectors and fans alike.

Anyways, do check out the adidas Originals store at Trinoma or at various brances throughout the year as they roll out their 60 soles and stripes line. It’ll definitely get you decked out in adi wear all year round.
