Ever since the collaboration was announced and stores started popping their teasers earlier this week, October 31st can’t come sooner. Built on a vibrant sense of optimism and highlighting the importance of equality, adidas and Pharrell used that as the driving force for the latest campaign.
Captured through the lens of celebrated photographer, Ryan McGinley, art directed by Lloyd & Co. and styled by esteemed fashion editor, Jay Massacret, the campaign features a cast of millennials of all races, ethnicities, and genders, the campaign depicts people from all walks of life, coming together in ways that signify unity and acceptance. Aerial views of groups forming shapes and symbols are combined with portraits of pairs of people sharing “real”, often-times poignant and personal moments. These colorful, fun, and optimistic scenes epitomize and embody the spirit of Pharrell Williams and his ongoing work with adidas Originals.
By now we’ve all heard that the second collection with Pharrell is dubbed as the ‘Tennis Pack’. The pack features three Superstar Track Jackets, this time offered in a sumptuous, satin cloth. Rounding out the assortment is a playful take on the Stan Smith sneaker’s sport performance roots, introducing the iconic silhouette in some of the same, brightly-colored felts from which tennis balls are constructed. The satin track jackets are offered in these same, spirited hues of bright orange, fluorescent yellow/green and solid white, all of which reinforce the hopeful, optimism conveyed throughout the collection’s campaign art.
The adidas Originals = Pharrell Stan Smith ‘Tennis Pack’ drops tomorrow, October 31st at adidas stores and retailers around the metro. The Stan Smith retails for Php 5,595.
