Last weekend was weLegendary’s opening for their third store, now located at the RONAC Art Center (ortigas). And this is what I picked up! Another Janoski, now done in Forest Green goodness. Quality materials, free red laces (to complete the “Gucci” look) to go along with the green leather white laces, what’s not to like? The Janoski is definitely a shoe for daily use. Sizes are now limited but you can swing by either Kamuning or RONAC for your Janoski (or the 5 other pairs that dropped last weekend). I’ll have more photos of the RONAC Launch later today. Congrats to Mark and the wL crew for another great release and and even better store opening. Cheers!

If you guys saw the first sample of the Forest Green Janoski, it had a red swoosh on them. It gave off a Gucci-esque feel to it, which would’ve made it an instant classic (though I’m sure the shoe would sell out regardless). We’re still figuring out how or why the Janoski garnered such a cult following among sneaker fans. But instead, they released a dark colored swoosh and forest green stripe as opposed to the red ones. They’re still great and would still sell out.

Now this coming Saturday, our good friends over at weLegendary are making the shoe extra special. They’re adding the extra red laces you see here to give the shoe the Gucci look. The red leather laces make the shoe extra crispy and clean. So do drop by early on Saturday and don’t miss out. The extra laces are free while supplies last. I just wanna remind you, these Janoskis will be sold at RONAC and not the Kamuning store, aight?

The cult favorite strikes again. When the obsidian Janoskis dropped late last year alongside the Gucci SBs nobody expected those to sell out that quick. Ever since, the Janoskis would sell out in jiff. Tomorrow, 1pm, the Stefan Janoski SB is done in classic SB colorway. Tomorrow, bring what’s left of your paycheck. weLegendary.

Two Saturdays ago I had to rush to we Legendary to cop these. Yup, among all the drops for May- PRod 3 (Cinco de Mayo), PRod 2.5 (Lakers) and the Stefan Janoski SB- it’s the latter that caught my attention. I’m no skater and coppin’ SBs may tag me as a poser but look at them! You don’t have to be a skater to realize the beauty of this shoe. A simple, clean white perforated upper with leather laces makes this shoe the perfect summer shoe to rock.

I always had a rule of posting the latest cops before wearin’ em but I couldn’t resist. Wore these the very next day and absolutely loved it. If you have the chance to find these elsewhere, go  ahead. They’re worth it. The Janoski ofcourse comes in the blue box with extra white laces. Last weekend wL had their Labor Day Sale. I wasn’t able to drop by to check out the goods. Did anyone get to check it out?

Over the weekend I also dropped by Crate. If you haven’t been here, you’re missing out. Crate carries a lot of rare and stuff you rarely find at regular shops. All the stuff at Crate were picked up at various places around the world, mostly from Singapore, Hong Kong and what have you. This is actually the first of three posts on Crate. It’s been a while since I last featured Crate here at Sole Movement. I didn’t take pictures of everything, so it’s all up to you to find out what else is there.

Let me break this post down by types- The SBs, the other Nikes, and Adidas. Ok, except for the one you see here, the following Nikes here are SBs. The one you see right below is a Tier Zero collab with Alife Rivington Club. As promoted before, it’s colorway is Black, White, Gum and BANG! Witty and straight up, just how I like it. These are extremely rare and are hard to come by. I’m not sure how many other pairs Jave (Crate) has, but do check em out. There are a lot of Dunk Mids here too- Blue/Black, Ice Green, Linoleum. Among the three, only the Blue/Black one is an ’09 release. That’s what’s great about Crate. He’s got pairs here that you most likely slept on. Prices aren’t cheap, but if they mean a lot to you, then price shouldn’t be an issue. Among the lows, I like the Toxic Sea Robin and the Will Ferrell. I know colorful/candy kicks are on its way out but the glowing green outsole of the Toxics are too good to pass on. The other one is dubbed Will Ferrell for his character as Ron Burgundy/Anchorman. The blue print is obviously his tie and the Burgundy colorway is obviously his suit. There are other SBs in the background if you look closely. The PRods also are available as well as the Zoom Classic SB and the Janoski.

Another sneaker that caught my fancy is the Air Toki TZ. With all the Vulc soles and Vans being the go to shoe for most these days, Nike hopped on the bandwagon with this piece. This came out early this year but still worth your dubloons. The charcoal colorway does it for me, as this can definitely go with anything. An everydayer? Most definitely.

The latest drop here at Crate are the Adi Originals’ Consortium City Series. Adidas follows up their AZX collab from last year with another store collab. Originally 4 cities (LA, Berlin, Boston, and Oslo), Crate has 3 of the 4, namely LA (UNDFTD), Berlin (Solebox), and Boston (Bodega). Among Adidas’ efforts this year, it’s really the ObyOs and the Consortiums that really stand out for 2009. Again, these pairs are available in limited sizes. Like any special release, if you blink, they’re more or less gone. Drop on by Crate from Wednesdays-Sundays (1pm-7pm, except  Sundays, 12nn-6pm) for more details.

Ok, ok. I was reaching. I would’ve said something else if I ended up copping the Guccis. Let me tell you about what happened last Saturday.

As early as 9am, friends from NT were hitting me up saying there was already a line for the much anticipated Gucci Dunk SBs. This was, after all, five years in the making. I personally wasn’t looking forward to that. I just prayed that people harped on those than what I actually purchased. The Zoom Stefan Janoski SB. Yes, the Janoskis. Yes, the Guccis are hyped up. Yes, the Guccis are must cops. But, I need something to wear that doesn’t scream Gucci. The Janoskis were it.

So I decided to take my time, get things done, and hopefully get some stuff out of the way. But traffic was a beeeeeeeeeeeeeeyotch. I did get some work done but ended up at WeLegendary (whatup to Mark and Co.) a little after 6. Everyone was doggin’ me for being late. Six hours late. But hey, better late than never, right? So I talkin’ up the group tellin’ them that I was really there for the Janoskis. Lo and behold, the last pair in my size was waiting for me. Believe me, this was not staged or set up. They had the last 10.5 waiting in the wings for me. Jojo was threatening me that if I didn’t get ‘em, he would. Mark was makin’ sure that I got ‘em by repping a pair on drop day (and yes, they are comfortable Mark.). So I got ‘em. It was meant to be. If they’re there, they’re there. If it was meant for you, it’s yours. Saturday was a good day. I had to excuse myself from the group as I had to attend a dinner and check out another event later in the eve.

Now, I’m not sure if there are still some Janoskis left. I’m sure there are, but not of this colorway. But if there are some more, cop ‘em! Better yet, call in to reserve them! Congratulations to WeLegendary for the awesome drops and the Gucci wipeout (Guccis were gone in 30 minutes!). Although I didn’t get a pair, I’m happy with the Janoski.

I’m sure you’ve seen that colorway before. I’m sure some of you have heard the story behind ‘em. Five years in the making. From Sample to now on Sale. We Legendary trumps itself one more time by dropping these Dunk High SB Guccis at the store. Shoe will drop this Saturday, November 14,1pm.

But if you’re not feelin’ the Gucci Dunks, there’re a couple more pairs worth copping. Among them, I’m feelin’ the Blazer, the P-Rod and the Janoskis. I can feel a pair has my name on it. Attention all those who have 10.5s, please arrive after I get there. Those Janoskis are mine. Mine, I tell you. See you guys there!
