I can easily make this a pass due to my lukewarm desire for Dunks and AF1s but I know it would be a disservice to the  community. Yes, there are a bunch of new Dunks and AF1s available in store now. The AF1s, both High and Low are both Premium Air Force 1s. They’re both part of the Check Pack- a pack that still baffles me. I’ve tried reading more about it but didn’t really get much. They do have a pattern by the middle panel and heel similar to the Futura joints from a few months back but that’s it.

The High tops come in Light Bone with Gum soles while the Lows are done in Red leather. The Highs look better with the gum sole as well as the muted color blocking, perfect for sunnier weather.

Then there are the Dunks. All Premium and neatly done. The black/reds I already posted on the Hideout update a few days ago, but the Blue/Grey/White and Orange/Gum ones are new to the update. I wasn’t able to take photos of the Polka dot Dunks for the ladies. I do remember seeing them a few months back during the Spring/Summer preview. The Blue/Grey are attractive, good enough to pass off as a Georgetown colorway. The Orange one is equally great as they are done in canvas and great for everyday wear.

I have to admit that I’m happy I gave up on the Dunk craze. After I stopped copping Dunks that’s when Nike opened the floodgates with the Dunks. From all sorts of material and special releases, it’s been a crazy 2 years with the Dunk. Can you imagine how much I would be spending on Dunks if I had continued?

Aside from the three Dunk Highs, there are a couple Dunk Lows worth mentioning. Though the colorways are reminiscent of a couple of Dunk Lows that came out earlier this year, or even far back as the Be True Dunks, they are matched differently. Tumbled leather with light suede makes it on both pairs. I like the black/grey version as it is easier to rock than the utility orange/blues.

All these Dunks and Air Force 1s are now available around town. Enjoy!

If you’re going to nitpick, you could say the paint job on the swoosh could be better. But could you have done the same thing your first time? I just want to give props to this customization on the classic Dunk. Mikko, you’ve upped the ante once again. Last week, we got our fair share of All-Star colorways and some of the good stuff. I’ve been holding some of these kicks to make way for some of the stuff you must pick up. Here’s the rest of the best from the past few weeks.

This Air Max LeBron VII colorway is the best in my opinion. I always believe in clean color blocking and this LBJ VII is tops for me so far. LeBrons are known to look bulky, but this one cleans up real good and gives that great illusion that they’re not as bulky as they seem. I won’t wear ‘em, but if I were to recommend some signature joints to some friends, I’d recommend this one. The black shrouds the white just right and the metallic gold accents on the emblem, swoosh and lace hooks are straight. These do not fit any of LeBron’s unis this year but if they fit your everyday get up or your team’s uni, grab em. The triple black version of the LBJ VII is also out but I didn’t have the chance to take a pic of it. These however are so fresh, so clean!

All the Dunks here I’ve posted before but I just had to take a shot once again. The only new Dunk here are these women’s release. Nike’s been loving the hue as I’ve noted time and time again. They released a white/grey/purple (or violet) pack that also contains a Dunk Lo, High, and an Air Max 90. There maybe more, I just didn’t see ‘em. They are pretty nice and the tinge of purple speckle by the midsole definitely gives the shoe some additional character. The Cortez below just looks great. It’s like cutting Kermit’s feet and makin’ ‘em your own. OK, that was pushing it.

I decided to try the Jason Markk Sneaker Solution to my dirty ol’ bicycle dunks. I was rushing but the few minutes I cleaned ‘em, check out the results!

Well, not in 2010, though. But yeah the Knicks rule! Haha, ofcourse these Dunks aren’t directly Knicks-inspired, but it works, right? This combination has been done so many times before and this just adds to the collection. I’m not as into Dunks as I was before but this would definitely work. Aside from the Knickerbocker reference, the shoe would be a permutation of the 2002 Danny Supa SBs. Lately, Nike’s been releasing simpler/classic Dunk colorways that are so for 2010. None of the speckles, none of the polka dots and other variations of flash.

Cop these at Nike stores nationwide. They should be available. and one more thing– Knicks Rule! (yes Noel, this one goes out to you and you undying love for the Knicks)

A couple more local releases from Nike. I tells ya, January’s been a busy month. Actually, Nike and the rest of the shoe companies release A LOT of shoes per month. I usually take notice of the ones I like. Thus, the photos. The Lunar Racer, The Dunk Hi (womens, of course) and the Zoom Speed are all great. They should be available at all Nike retailers nationwide.

Crate Manila along with graffiti artist a SBTG and Royalefam dropped a specially-designed Dunk Low to give props to the Black Mamba Kobe Bryant. As this is a special release, there are only 8 pairs in the world. 8 pairs! If you decide to get it (as there are a couple left I believe), only you and 7 others have this specially designed pair. For more on the shoe, the details shout Kobe altogether– from the purple, the number 24 and the word MVP on the heel. Aside from the Kobe infusions, the detail on the shoe is amazing– Crate and Manila is now on the tongue and the SBTG lace lock plate is also in place.

Sneakerheads were there to witness the drop and enjoyed the event with great musuc, free booze and grub. Jave Evangelista (Crate) gave out commemorative event shirts as well as raffled off a couple SBTG Tees. Some cats were just plain lucky as one lucky head won his umpteenth raffle. It was nice to see the regulars and talk shop about the latest drops as well as reminisce about the past year’s craziness.

Ofcourse sneaker events won’t be complete without the sic kicks. I was extremely lazy that night and rarely whipped out my cam to take shots of the heat people wore. Some notables were the tons of SBs, Jordans, KZKs, A-ZX Neighborhoods, Visvims, ObyOs, and a couple others. There was enough heat to set LRI  on fire! Ofcourse, Jave had to wear the best of the night, a 1 of 1 SBTG(Royalefam) x Crate Manila piece (see below). The Mongster also came with heat wearin’ the SBTG x Nitro:licious Dunk (did I get this right? Or is this a 1 of 1 too?).

There may be a chance to cop the ultra exclusive Mamba Dunks over at Crate. Give them a call or drop on by the ground floor of the LRI Plaza from Wednesdays to Sundays. Yep. You’re reading and seeing it right. Last Wednesday these dropped. Not exactly on display but word around is that it’s on display at other Nike stores around town. Most likely they’re on display now. Haven’t been to a Nike store since then. But yes, do you know do you know do you know? This is like the umpteenth version of the Jordan Spiz’ike. This is the Fresh since ’85-Mars cw. If you scope out the colorway and the style, they definitely have AJ3s color down, well except for the blue lace chamber or eyelet at the top. Well, they do have his Airness’ look well it also has Spike Lee’s sneaker persona Mars Blackmon’s name on it. There’s also a MARS  lacelock that’s not available on all the Spiz’ikes. There’s also the famous MB statement printed on the lining as well as on the  paper in the box. These should be out already, though some online stores have it out or should be out by the end of January.

Another shoe that made it’s debut before the 2010 ball dropped are the CP3 IIIs. Among all of Chris Paul’s kicks, these take the cake. Among the three releases so far, these are the most aesthetically pleasing to the eye. For once, they actually resemble a decent shoe. The first 2 were, well, uhmmm.. weird. Though they looked great due to Paul’s great gameplay. I’ve seen the other colorways and they’re all tight. So you better cop all the ones that land on our shores, including this one. Let the 1s and 2s die a slow death at the bargain bins.

The next two drops are for the ladies. I’m not an AF1 fan but I believe it’s my duty to post them here. First and foremost, they’re not that bad. Most of the shoe’s lined with leopard (or giraffe) or safari spots. Though I never hopped on the safari print all season long, these are  tolerable. The other shoe here is the Dunk Lo. I guess everyone’s bleeding purple by now. I know it’s the new it color so this is definitely here to complement to your wardrobe. The White/Grey/Purple cw works so you should, too.

Here are the Dunk His I mentioned on the previous post. See, they’re also available here. The Lows are also available but you’ll just have to take my word for it. I like the reds as they do remind me of the OG Jordan 1s. Neat, plain and simple. Just how kicks should be. A lot of people don’t get it though. Anyways, less Dunks for me for 2010.

Trainers. Trainers. Trainers. I’ve seen ‘em on the net and I’m sure you’ll see more of ‘em in 2010. The Trainer 1s pretty cool and here’s another colorway to add to the collection. I’m not sure if it’s a Laker colorway (esp with Pinas being an extension of LA) or the Vikings with football season still in play. But they’re gravy right? The low top Trainer 1 here is the Trainer 1 SL. The third Pacquiao Trainer were done in this mold. Flywire technology’s available on both and expect them to be on a lot pars moving forward. The last shoe below is the Lunar Kayoss.  Again, Nike Phils is harping on the Pinoys love for KB24. The Kayoss is a training shoe containing the Lunarlite foam as well as flywire, a mix we’ll definitely see in the new year alongside the Torch Technology. Another highlight of this shoe is the heel. Does it look familiar? Got that right, those rubberized heel supports were on the Huaraches of yore. Now, get yours. It’s a pretty nifty shoe to have at the gym. It’s supposed to handle the most intense of workouts. Nike PI, I’m willing to take these bad boys for a ride!

So there you have it. Those are the Nike drops I have so far. Got word from the boys that there are a bunch of Nike Basketball PEs now available. I’ll go check it out soon enough. I’ve yet to share with you guys my Macau/HK trip. Soon! Promise!

Here’re a couple more kicks to whet your sneaker appetite. I found these over at Shoe Salon Trinoma but you can also pick them at any Nike Park/Stadium around town. I’ve seen them over at Nike Stadium GB5 a few days after. The Dunk Highs are also available in red/white and orange/white. They actually look like the Dunk SB Supremes from way back sans the stars on the side panel.The Dunk Lows were well too. Though I have mentioned that I’m staying off the Dunk tip for the next few months (yes, that includes special releases like the Guccis and the Crate SBTGs), these Dunks are pretty neat.

The other pretty pair here is the Lunar Everyday. The Everyday Free took a Lunarfoam sole this time around. It’s clean and definitely a good ride while running. I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and may we all rock the sickest kicks moving forward!

PS- these Dunks cost around 4595 for the Highs and 3k++ for the Lows. The price is quite affordable especially for a timeless silhouette and colorway!
