People might think I only cover lifestyle pairs on this site. But this is Sole Movement, and I’m here to really give you the 411 on the sneakers available locally. This was the last stop of my Trinoma trip from last weekend. I’m sure you’ve seen the ad on BTV or saw the new billboards posted for the upcoming season (which kicks off on the 28th Manila time). The 3 stripes are still hot on the whole Brotherhood campaign (and why quit on it? They do have the best players not named LeBron or Kobe on their roster). As we saw Dwight join the brotherhood last season, they have a couple of young bucks joining them this season: Derrick Rose and Josh Smith. Last year’s ROY reps adidas and he’s the main guy on the current global ad. Actually, Josh has been part of the Brotherhood ever since he stepped on the NBA hardwood, but he’s getting shine this year.

Aside from Basketball being a Brotherhood, adidas has a new line: It’s on ME for my Brotherhood. So yeah, it does make sense. You do whatever it takes for your team. Great campaign. Currently (though I’m sure it should be out by now), they only have 2 pairs for the new season in stores- the TS Cut Creator and the TS Cut Creator Low. The Cut Creator is for the guard and fortified with Formotion, helping any player make quicker cuts to the basket. The Cut Creators available now are for TMac, Chauncey, and Pooh (that’s Derrick’s childhood nickname btw). Ofcourse, my main man Gil gets his own Low version (what sucks though was that he wasn’t part of the ad. I take it that he was still workin’ out and getting in shape for the Brotherhood). We may not see much of Gil with adi but I’m tellin’ y’all, my boy’s gonna rise and tear the F up in the L (hopefully before he tears his own ankle… again).

The TS Commander LT (Josh/Tim/KG/Dwight’s signature shoe) should be on its way or should be in stores by now. The great thing about these kicks is that they’re no fuss sneakers. They’re sleek, simple and look great on the court. The LTs have great cushioning and quite flexible so that they can bang inside better. If you can’t wait on the new digs, adidas’ current basketball lineup is still solid. They still have the TS Bounce Commander and Bounce Commander 3s available as well as the TS Creator Lightnings.

One other shoe that’s available now that is not part of the TS line (though I believe is one of the better new lines of adidas) is the Pilrahna. Agent Zero wore the first one before the 3 stripes dressed him up with Gil Zeros. The Pilrahna now is on its 4th edition, and comes in two colorways (the white/red/gold and black/white/orange). The shoe is well padded and fits quite well. Anyways, expect more from adidas as the NBA season is upon us. But if you wanna look as f ly as the Brotherhood, drop by the store and get your pair now. Don’t be lazy. You don’t want to be on the losing end of a shoe shortage, similar to the Gil Zero phenomenon of ’07.

Thanks to the adidas staff at Trinoma for accommodating my impromptu shoot last Sunday. For more photos of the adidas Basketball line, check the gallery for the other colorways of the shoes you see here.
