Let me just share to you guys a find I had last weekend. I dropped by MJ46 Center last Saturday and found these Quickstrikes on the shelf. Yes, I’ve switched my preference to AMs and this was a no-brainer. I actually saw these last November during the Phil. Ad Congress. I chose the SneakersBR collab AM1s over the Microstripes as I was eyeing those for quite some time.

Dubbed as the Seersucker AM1s (mainly due to the blue and white stripe pattern), are perfect for the Summer.  They were perfect for last year, but I can still see myself still rockin’ them this sunny season.  This AM1 is part of a Microstripe Pack that dropped sometime March of last year. There’s also a Red Trainer 1, a Tier Zero Footscape and a Pocketknife. The whole pack, along with the Lanceiro, never dropped at local stores.  I don’t know why but I’m glad I picked them up at a bargain. There are still a couple of pairs left at MJ46 if you want a pair. The Seersucker also comes with an extra set of blue laces to match.

It’s a great find, I tells ya. I checked the pair online and they’re currently going for about 170-195 USD, and I only picked them up for $65 ! There are a couple of pairs worth copping over at MJ46.

Gotta give props to my boys Mon and Caloy for rocking their AMs in this Jordan/Dunk/Chucks/Vans world. Last night, they rocked their Phantaci (above) and the classic AM 95 Neons. Ain’t that fresh! I forgot to take a pic of my AMs last night. Wore something special as well.

I was at Rockwell Tuesday and decided to check out the kicks at Nike Rockwell. This was really the calm before the storm. Ofcourse we all know the Kobe V dropped Friday and the AJVI Black/Reds dropped today, but here are the kicks worth copping ASIDE from the aforementioned pairs.

The AM90 you see on top is for the ladies. Nice colorway, and that’s all you need to know and take from this post regarding it. AM 90s are classic and this is no exception.

The Jordan 2  Retro is part of the 25th or Silver Anniversary of the Jordan line. All 25 pairs will carry the white/metallic silver/natural grey and this ofcourse is no exception. I always felt the 2s were too chunky. Jordanheads will harp on these regardless. Detail is great here as you can see the close ups of the heel and the tongue.

The last shoe I got from this visit were these AM1s. They’ve been out for quite some time but this is the only time I’ve seen ‘em in person. Most of the S/S 201o AM1s will have this color blocking- a grey quarter with a swoosh, tip, overlay and mudguard in one color. The shoe’s colorway (white/black/Scuba-blue) is just neat, perfect and safe for whatever occasion. All these kicks SHOULD be available around town. They’re clean, safe and perfect for everyday use.

I just had to give props. Saw one of the few AM fans over at Greenbelt 5 the other week. He told me that he ordered these denim/cords once he saw them available. Some people like AF1s. Some people like Dunks. Some like Js. We love dem AMs. These aren’t available locally so go online and cop a pair like Caloy. Cheers and Happy Holidays!

As I mentioned earlier last week, I was at the 21st Philippine Advertising Congress over at Subic. And during my free time, I decided to drop by the sneaker outlet stores. I failed to check out the adidas outlet store (I might’ve seen something worth something there but I didn’t). But the other 2 old ones didn’t really have anything, quite disappointing. Well, up until I dropped by the Nike Factory Store by the Petron Station.

They had some quickstrikes (AM1 Microstripe/Seersucker, Air Trainer 1 Microstripe), Lunar Packs and a ton of Jordans. There were a couple more of interest but this was the one that caught my attention. This quickstrike collab between Nike and SneakersBr Air Max 1 “Lanceiro” was available. I don’t recall seeing this pair at ANY store here in Manila. How could that be? Why wouldn’t they sell such a cool shoe?

Inspired by a Brazilian festival, the AM1 features Blue heel and side panels, White toe area, light Blue Swoosh (holographic one at that), Red inner liner, and the country’s popular colors in dots on the ankle area. Finally, here’s the twist, on the back panel of the heel has a reflectorized phrase written in Brazil’s native tongue on each shoe. The phrase translated goes like this- “one step ahead and you are no longer in the same place”. Also check out the detail on the footbed and extra laces. I’ve also attached the inspiration for the bead-like print below- a vest farmers wear over in Brazil.

I was contemplating on getting them at first as it was 30% and still about 4k. I saw a fellow sneakerhead wearin’ em Wednesday night (whatup Caloy!) and ended up convincing me to get it. The shoe ended up being 40% off once I hit the counter. Awesome, right? Well, there are a couple of pairs left so do drop by and check them out.

It’s been a crazy week. Aside from the Janoskis, I chanced upon these over at Hideout. This was a sleeper release. No one expected them to come out. I’m sure some knew, but I honestly didn’t. Extremely with the AM1 OG Sport Reds, I definitely needed to have these Nike x Patta joints.

Yes, the QS you see here is a collab between Nike and the Amsterdam-based sneaker botique Patta. I’m sure most of us know how popular green stuff is over at Amsterdam, this colorway makes perfect sense. The shoe is made of different materials not found on the OGs. The most noticeable material here would be the green denim mudguard. There’s also a swoosh stitched on the side. Patta’s blocked logo is also on the tongue and a special footbed completes this collaboration.

The fit and shape is actually different from the OG, but it being a great shoe and colorway negates that. The shoe also comes with an extra green lace with white tips. The white laces, on the other hand, have green tips to match the chlorophyll/white/grey shoe. Do try to check them out over at Hideout. They should have some more. It’s been 9 days since they came out, but they should have some more stacked.

For some reason, my post got lost or wasn’t saved from the night before. Anyhoo, I did drop by Shoe Salon over at Trinoma over the weekend. Shoe Salon’s been known to carry some crazy kicks. They had the AM90 Infrareds (24 pairs, and not 1 I was able to get! grrrr), and other QS and Limited editions from other shoe brands.

This trip, I have 3 picks. One would be the Adidas Micropacer (above). This version of the then-futuristic shoe is part of the 60 Years of Soles and Stripes, which is adidas’ celebration of their 60 years in the biz. The other two adidas kicks below, the Superstar and Stan Smith is also part of this pack and for people who like detail, these are for you.

Lastly, there’s the AM1 in this black/blue ensemble tagged as “West”. The AM1 is part of the East vs West campaign going on over at Nike. I’ll be posting some other pairs that are part of this whole campaign. For other kicks, drop on by Shoe Salon Trinoma or other branches (Rockwell, Glorietta, Galleria).

I’ve been to MJ46 Center a couple of times before and every single time after, there’s always something to feature. The photos posted on the site are the ones I really had my eye on, but there are a lot of pairs to choose from. Yes, the store is a Nike Factory Outlet. And though it is a factory outlet, you can also find a couple of pairs that you’ll see in regular stores.

This time around, I was surprised to see some Tier Zero Dunks (sorry folks, these TZs are for the ladies), Premium Quickstrikes (AM1 Microstripes, Huarache Light Burst), and other special pairs that you wouldn’t expect to see at a factory store. The outlet is unique as it’s the only factory store that carries big sizes (note: size 13-15). Big dudes are hard to shop for and you’d be surprised to see a couple of AMs, Prestos, and Jordans here. At least for the bigs out there, you don’t have to wear slippers or your ball shoes when you go out. Thank God I have ample-sized feet. Yes, my shoe size is a bit common for heads, but at least there are options. I feel bad for guys with big feet… and when I mean I feel bad, I only feed bad that they can’t find shoes that fit.

But the most important thing here is that the items here are marked down! Prices are tagged much lower than regular stores. Where can you find Huarache Bursts for only 3,360 Php? I do recommend that you physically visit the store to check out the whole range. There might be some gems there that aren’t worth anything to me, but might be of interest for you.
