Well worth the wait. After the unveiling last January, Under Armour PH finally brings us Stephen Curry’s first ever signature shoe with the brand, the Curry One. The League’s leading vote getter during the last All-Star game in New York, the Curry One definitely tells the story that is charged by belief. Inspired by his will, skill and belief, the Curry One fits Steph to a T.
The Under Armour Curry One works with the Charged Cushioning system to absorb impact and create energy return. The shoe also features the brand’s AnaFoam upper, providing a better fit but still based on a lightweight structure and support. The Curry One’s upper also features an external heel counter for better fit and eliminates sliding while the shoe’s outsole has a multi-directional herringbone pattern for better traction and court feel. Based on initial test reviews, the UA Curry One’s as sure as Curry baseline three.
The Under Armour Curry One drops today, February 28 at select UA stockists such as Titan. You can either choose from the Warriors Home colorway, ‘Dark Matter’ and ‘Candy Reign’. The Home colorway is self explanatory, but the Dark Matter and Candy Reign colorways were on Steph’s feet during the All-Star Weekend. Dark Matter composes 80% of the universe, but cannot be seen physically. Steph’s brilliance works the same way as his drive is hidden from all the flashing lights on court.
The Candy Reign is inspired by Steph’s weakness/guilty pleasure, which is candy. You’ll always see a bag of candy inside Curry’s gym bag and they just had to create a colorway to represent it. Steph wore the Candy Reign as he won this year’s 3-point title. The UA Curry One retails for Php 7,995 and is available at Titan Fort and Shang.
