But this should entice a lot of you. Fans of the Air Presto should rejoice with this blue/white number. Do you guys realize that the Presto came out around 10 years ago? It’s been that long already!Aside from the Presto, a neat bright orange Blazer low also came out. This one, is for the ladies. Ladies need cool kicks too.

The other 2 pairs here are for the ladies. An Air Force 1 with a red swoosh on white (a classic look as always), and the other’s a lavender Era-type sneaker (my bad. I forgot to check the model name). If you’re a fan of Vans, then this is a pretty cool alternative. This is a pretty weak entry but I assure you, I’ve got some to come in the next few days to get you riled up.

Just because I say I steer clear of Dunks and AF1s doesn’t mean I don’t recognize good pairs that should be copped by other people. Although these pairs have been available for some weeks already, I decided to give these pairs some love. First up is this Dunk High LE. At first glance, it is quite reminiscent of the uber rare Jordan 1 but up close, the blue is actually purple, or “wicked purple” as Nike would aptly call it.

We’ve been showered with Dunks over the past couple of years but this stands out for me. The colorway works (maybe perfect for the fashion trend). The materials used- ballistic nylon and tumbled leather- also comes together really well. There’s also a tinge of metallic gold on the tongue tag. The shoe’s simple, no frills, no crazy artwork. But it works. It works. I may not like Dunks anymore, but if it were down to this and something else, I don’t mind rocking an instant classic.

Aside from the Dunk, there’s also the AF1 07 with a black-white color block. The black/white combo will work with any wardrobe and should be on your regular rotation for weeks and months to come. The x-factor here would be the “black ice”. The classic is suited up with a translucent black gumsole dubbed as black ice and gives the shoe extra depth and character. So, what’re you waiting for? These are now available at Nike stores nationwide this summer.

This is way overdue. We’re nearing the end of the month and Mark Ong aka SBTG was here around the2nd week of March. I met SBTG along with some sneakerheads while he was here and Miko asked him if he could do a freestyle on these uptowns. It was a long shot but he went for it. Mark acknowledged and asked him to bring the pair to his hotel. But he came through. Freestyle. Worked it. Rocked it. Oh, and he just worked this with a marker. What if we put in paints and prepped the shoe for customizing? Dang, SBTG is a legend. Thanks to kingcrux for the pics and for more info on SBTG and Royalefam, log on to royalefam.com and check out how you could own your own SBTG pair.

I know it’s a week late but we’ll let it pass. We can blame the shipment. We can blame the delivery. But what’s important is that it made it onto our shores. We may have mixed feelings about the All-Star Weekend last weekend, but to me it still was a good one. Yeah, the “great” ones didn’t play (Kobe, CP3, AI, BRoy, etc), but the ones who deserved to play were on display in front of 108,713 screaming fans. That’s history right there. Now, Hideout gives you the chance to own part of history by owning the annual shoe to commemorate ASW 2010.

Four of the Six available AF1s are available on our shores (the other 2 being a red AF1 and the other a AF1 High TZ white/white/perf that’s slick as ish) and now available at Hideout. The AF1 lows are done with patent leather with just the Texas logo by the heel. They are pretty simple, which is great so that it’s wearable. Last year’s AF1 were so so (now that All-Star was forgettable). The black version with the silver reminds me of the Takashi 2 SB Dunks with the silver swoosh and black upper. Ofcourse the patent leather and them being AF1s makes them a different shoe altogether but the silhouette is tight.

The AF1 High is done with a stitched logo (which I like), a star on the tongue and the upper done with 3M. As you can see below, it’s reflecting with all its 3M goodness when the lights are flashing. They’re alright…if you’re an AF1 fan. The Lows go for 4,095 Php (not bad) and the High goes for 7,495 Php. These are available in limited quantities. So take home a piece of history this weekend.

Hopefully, this is the last of my delayed posts. These AF1s came out the same time as the DJ AM Dunks over at Hideout. Wrong move. Only the true heads took notice and realized how special these kicks were. Well, they’re not as special as the initial Futura collabs yet, but they will be. Hideout released both the high and low tops of this Futura Be True collab. Two things make this shoe worth copping- the perforation and the clear outsoles.

The size of the perforation from the heel to the front have a gradient effect- there are more perfs by the heel than the middle panel, then much less by the toe box . Like the DJ Premier AF1s, have a design the can be seen through the icy soles. The words “Be” and “True” are written Futura style on each shoe. The tongue tag also carries the classic Future logo.

Both pairs use premium leather and it being black and grey, they are good to go with anything. The high tops have a velcro strap to complete the classic look. If you’re familiar with Futura’s contribution to the sneaker scene, these kicks are worth having. Hop on by Hideout for these kicks.

Alright. I’m sure everyone’s curious as to what went down when I took my trip to Macau/HK. We really went to Macau with the fam with my sister and I just taking a short half-day trip to HK to get some things done. I was a bit disappointed really… well, that and I didn’t have time to really go around and do the stuff I wanted to.

Macau was a major disappointment. As the place is really more of a touristy place, there weren’t any major sneaker stores aside from the usual Marathon Sports and other similar sneaker stores. I went through stores only once and just saw the usual releases. There might’ve been some special releases but I guess my fault was that I was too focused on copping AMs more than anything. Jordans, AF1s and other Basketball releases were bountiful. NB limited editions were also available, but that’s pretty much it. I was in Macau a couple of years back and there was one serious sneaker store that carried some crazy ish like the Fantastic Four Pack. I tried looking for it but it wasn’t there anymore.

There was a Nike store over at the Venetian (and damn is that place huge!) and once again, it didn’t really bring any surprises. There might’ve been some surprises here and there, but nothing to write home about. Well, there were a couple of things I did see. They had the Air Max Light from the Tecmo Bo Pack. I don’t recall these being released here so I had to take this stolen shot. They were ok, but not enough for me to bring ‘em home. The Max Light uses the KC Royals color blocking with pixels by the blue toe box and a pixelized Bo Jackson playing baseball (which can be found on the old Nintendo game Tecmo Baseball).

Another surprise here were the AM 180 Ultramarines (that also didn’t drop here btw) and the AM1 OGs. Yes, the AM1 OGs came out here but it seemed like they were GRs there! I even saw the OGs over at New Yaohan, the mall across our hotel! What’s great about the Nike store there was that they did have a pretty good selection considering that it’s inside the department store. And for some reason, the stuff they had were on sale! I decided to get the Blue AM1 OG (which hasn’t been re-stocked yet unlike the Red 1s) at 3o% off retail price! They came out to about 520 HKD (which is about 3250, a good 2k less than they sell ‘em over at Hideout!).

I did take the trip to HKG a day before heading back here. It sucked that they also dropped the Space Jams on the 23rd at the Nike Store. Here are some kicks that I saw at the Nike Hong Kong store. Lebron 7 Red Carpets, Kobe Beijing to Finals, Yi Jianlian Skyposites. As you can see with the photo above and below, a lot of QS that never made our shores. Like I’ve mentioned before, I’m not a fan of the AF1s but there were a lot for you guys to see. There were a couple of Jordan 1s that also didn’t make it here. Seeing all these J1s, now I realize that they did release a whole ton of Jordan 1s last year. From Phat Lows, Hi Straps, Premiers and Quickstrikes, we were abundant in Js last year.

Ocean Terminal Stores were a bit of a disappointment. I breezed by the NSW store, Adidas Originals and Performance stores, Onitsuka Tiger and the rest…and nothing….. or not within my budget. Another surprise occurrence here were the abundance of Brain Wrecks and other SBs. Though they didn’t have the Guccis. I purposedly didn’t pass by Visvim and the other stores nearby as I know I’d only be salivating over the kicks on hand. D-Mop was ok but once again, nothing to write home about. Streetwear stuff was pretty cool and the sale was just too tempting. But time wasn’t on our side and I didn’t get to go back to check them out.

After lunch and Ocean Terminal we scooted on down to Fa Yuen street, the fabled Sneaker Street over at Mongkok. The place was crazy! Even the streets leading to it was already filled with kicks. But sadly, my AM90 Infrared journey was all for naught. No one had, and if they did, they didn’t have my size. Fa Yuen, like this whole sneaker trip, was a bit of a disappointment. But I guess it was a mistake I had a goal in mind. The stores offered pretty much the same thing and nothing really stood out.

I did however drop by the Nike Basketball over at Fa Yuen. The store was really nice and found my surprise pick up there. I’ve been pretty down on my luck up until then. Among all the basketball releases so far for this season, I’ve been riding only on a couple– CP3 IIIs, Kobe Vs, Skyposites (still not there), and the Cradle Lows. It was just unfortunate HK didn’t have the Philippines Asia Pack version, but I was lucky enough to pick up the Chinatown edition (photos to follow real soon!). The colors are pretty funky and I just had to get ‘em! Though I am selling them. So if there are any takers, do drop me a line (10.5 US) let me know if you’re interested. I’ll PM the details but I’ll post them soon enough.

So there, that was my trip. I know it could’ve been better if I had more time. I also know that if I had a little more time, I would’ve been able to appreciate other releases. I guess the Net is also a curse as it makes you think that you’ve seen some of the sneakers before, especially for some pairs you’ve seen over and over again on all the sneaker sites like mine. So to a certain extent, especially for the Nike releases, it felt like there was nothing really amazing. But I’m definitely sure there was heat behind some pairs there. So ’til the next time, I’ll keep my eyes peeled for the other stuff and not just the elusive Infrareds (word has it that the AM90 Infrareds are gonna come out later this year. so yay me!).

As I struggle to catch up with all the drops this month, I try to figure out what else is in store for us this holiday ’09? Yes, we’ve seen a lot of sneak peeks online the past few months. A lot of them have surfaced– HideOut has the DOD Pack, the AF1 Savage Beast, Nitro Microphone AF1s, AM1s and Maxims while Nike Parks and Stadiums have had their share of QK and ultra clean releases.

I also passed by Nike over at Greenbelt 5 last week and saw the pairs you see here. The AF25 above is apt, especially with More Than a Game out in theaters. Ofcourse, these follow Bron’s High School colors- Green, Gold, White. I was never a fan of this pair, but the iced outsole gives the shoe extra cred. Another ‘Bron release is the LBJ Zoom Ambassador II. There’s another colorway (majority white) that plays with the same colors. They’re alright, as they aren’t as clunky as the Six or LeBron’s other pairs (well, except for the LBJ7).

Most of the fresh kicks are really for performance. Another pair worth mentioning are the Trainer 1s. This is actually the fourth colorway released here (Lights Out, Volt/Silver. Grey/White/Red and this). If you’re digging on Jigga’s Empire State of Mind, this definitely resembles NYC to the fullest… well, not so much the Yankees, but the Knicks and Mets represent!

Kobe cannot be outdone so they released 2 more pairs of the Dream Season X. The image below is the white/grey/purple with the black/yellow also available at my gallery. This definitely echoes the color of the Lake show, and one of the current Kobe IVs. They’re good as gold, especially if you like your high tops high. I’d rather go for the IVs though.

Last but certainly not the least are the NSW drops. With the speckle look invading NSW, here’s a Dunk that comes correct. Wouldn’t it be cooler if the speckle resembled blood blotches? Aside from the speckle, the pair’s pretty tame. I’d change the laces to white for an opposite pattern to come out or black to get with the low key look goin. The AF1 low here is pretty fresh. As we all know that purple/violet is the now color, this doesn’t disappoint. It’s just an awesome silhouette.

Well, more drops on the way. Just give me some time to load everything and get my act together. I wasn’t able to take a pic, but lil’ fans of LeBron and Kobe have their respective AF1 colorways. Also, kids get the jumpoff with the LBJ7. Their version dropped a few days before the real thing.

for other views of the shoes above, you can check out the gallery section of this site under the Nike album.

So there I was. Walkin’ around Greenbelt 5. I was at Hideout a couple of days back but decided to drop by again. Good thing I did. As we are days away from Halloween (one of my favorite holidays, btw), HideOut has the shoe to make your costume complete. Remember Gossamer from the Looney Tunes? Yes, the bright orange hairy beast that looks like a huge ass hairball. Well, these AF1s are inspired by that , uhmm, thing. You better cop these as there are only a couple of pairs available. The pony hair (bright orange) and beige canvass makes a good match. The word Savage Beast’s on the heel tab to remind everyone what you are (ok, that was a stretch). These go for 5,695 PHP. Not bad right? Did I mention that they’re pretty light for AF1s? They’re not as clunky and the hair just attracts mad attention. So this Halloween, you can now pull off saying “You want to stroke my Savage Beast?” Ok. It was worth a shot. Happy Halloween!

Yes, it’s been a while since I’ve been to Greenbelt 5. Now, I’ve been here 2 times in less than a week. There were a couple of hits and a couple that should’ve been out a long time ago. For some reason, they stocked on some AJ1 DMPs- yup, the same 60+ Pack that came out in July. So for everyone who lost out, it’s still available. Grab it. Now. They have the complete set of the Safari Pack Air Max 1s as well. The latest one was the Purple/White CW. Please be advised that I only take pictures of the shoes that aren’t available at other stores, at least you know what’s exclusive to each. Ofcourse, most Nike/Adidas/Puma stores carry pretty much the same stuff, save for some special pairs. Before I go on and feature the great stuff over at HideOut, the AJ12 Rising Sun is now available at Nike GB3. Not that I’m getting one, I just wanted everyone to know. Now, for this month’s new ish brought to you by our friends at HideOut.

Air Force 1 Nitro Microphone Underground. This collaboration is basically one with Nike and the Japanese Hip Hop group Nitro Microphone Underground. I’ll admit that I haven’t heard their music before but their collab with Nike pretty intense. This shoe commemorates their 10th year in the industry. The tongues on these bad boys have 1999 on one and 2009 on the other shoe. Aside from the special leather and gold toe box, this AF1 also has the special Gold Plated tag and gold lace covers (is that what you call them? I have no idea). They do come at a hefty price (9,995 Php) but you’re sure to be the only one at your size to have them on.

Dunk High Premium “Athletics East” Speckling Volt. Keeping true to the whole East/West/South/North campaign, Here’s another special Dunk for the speckled lovers. Nike’s been on the whole speckle/safari/printed look the past year. This is a nice pair, but I have to start thinking of pairs that are age appropriate for me. Moving on…

Bling Bling! This has got to be the year with the most Dunk Highs I’ve seen. Nike’s going all out with the non-traditional colorways. This Bling Pack comes in two colors (there’s a third one but not yet available)- Metallic Gold and Metallic Silver. Theyr’e great and I’m sure the cool cats are gonna wear these to the club. Unless you want to grab the attention of dudes at the mall.

A couple of months back HideOut also dropped the famed Tennis Pack- a Dunk High, an AF1. This is their long lost cousin, coming in 2 months late. This edition comes in with the candy colors. I actually like them better than the first two that came out, the colors are funkier but will definitely look better with jeans and a clean shirt. The Yellow/Blue outline mimicks the OG Michigan colorway but the green and orange mashup gives the shoe a totally different look altogether. I can see school kids wearin’ em. If I see one of my bosses rock this, well, it’s good to know they have taste (for a kid).

Alright, time for something more age appropriate. Here’s the Air Royal Mid QS. This is actual a relative of the Air Elan, but this is much more to the tune of the late 20s and up. This shoe seems like a hybrid of a sneaker and a work boot. With the Red Wing-type laces, premium leathers and contrast stitching, why not right? As much as I’ve been steering clear of brown boots, this one can hold it down. The black one too, though I think I’d change the laces for a cleaner look. Come to think of it, these can go head to head with Adidas’ ObyO collection! KZK, meet your match. The Royal Mids come with a special bag to keep ‘em cozy and clean.

I grew up on Air Trainers (aka Bo Jacksons). Now, my clear cut favorites this year were the OG AM1s. When Nike came out with the Air Maxim, I didn’t know what to make of it. It was like the classic but only made for the modern foot. It was a great idea but somehow I felt like they made too many shortcuts to get to the final product. I’m still thinking of getting the Air Maxims but this one, well this one, is on the fence. The Air Maxim Trainer NDs are just something else. First of all, the strap’s pretty useless. The only thing I like about this would be the colorway. That’s it. I don’t think they even look right. If I were to buy an Air Maxim, it would be the one coming out next month (here’s a clue- its past collabs with the swoosh were all hits). I’m sure that’ll be a pricey one but I believe they’re worth it. As for these, I’ll pass. I don’t think they’ll ever blow up to Infrared status anytime soon.

There’s actually one more shoe that dropped (actually they dropped yesterday alongside the silver blingers) over at HideOut. I’ll do a totally separate post for that one. It’s time to bring out the Halloween Limiteds for next weekend yo!
