As mentioned last week, I droppy by SM Megamall to customize my Docksides. I know some people were asking if it’s a full-on customization a la Nike ID or mi adidas. It’s just that you can change the laces to the famous boat shoe. Looking at the image above, you can see the same shoe with the original (left) laces, and the re-upped one with the new laces. It definitely changes the look right?

Looking at the bowl of laces, possibilities are endless to make your Docksides your very own. I initially wanted the black/white Docksides but couldn’t get my size (guys- do drop by before they run out). But I was actually happy with the pair I ended up getting. Whenever I do customized kicks, I try my best to go for something that has eluded me since I took kicks seriously- the pigeon/cement grey colorway. I would always try to do my own version of the Pigeon or the Infrared and see how it would look with a different silhouette. Obviously I wasn’t able to get it again but I did find the perfect grey/blue combo to make the pair pop with new laces.

So I picked a silhouette and tried two different laces- orange and teal. Sebago uses a special needle to get the lace through the boat shoe’s lacing system. Here’s a step by step procedure on how they worked out the teal on this grey/blue Dockside.

Nice, right? I was really happy with the turnout of the jazzed up Docksides. Go drop by any of Sebago’s stores around the metro to customize your Docksides. Here’s a couple more pairs with new laces.
