SAUCONY: THE STORY OF RUNNING // RECAP
With so much heritage under their belts, Saucony definitely has a story to tell to bring people into the fold. Saucony Philippines recently launched Saucony Originals in an intimate celebration as told through their The Saucony Story of Running exhibit. With key silhouettes dating as far back as the 50s were on hand to give friends, family, the media and sneaker enthusiasts a better appreciation of the brand’s storied legacy.
It was only fitting that the Manila leg of the Story of Running global tour happened during the brand’s launch, offering all of us an array of iconic footwear from the brand’s inception to today’s forward thinking innovation. Logging in over a hundred years of shoemaking, Saucony Originals offers what few others can; an authentic running heritage. The Saucony timeline flashes snapshots of significant running events across the decades, from Ron Dixon’s unforgettable win at the 1983 NYC Marathon wearing the Jazz Original to the GRID tech of the Saucony Grid 9000. Over the course of the brand’s history, sneaker enthusiasts also played a big part of the brand’s resurgence (more on that in a later post). The guys over at Saucony gave guided tours for the guests to further understand and appreciate the brand’s amazing archive.
To further appreciate Saucony Originals and their running heritage, do check out the Saucony Concept Store at the 2nd floor of Glorietta 3, Complex Lifestyle Store and Shoe Salon stores around the metro. You can also follow them on Facebook and on Instagram (@SauconyOriginalsPH).
