AI fans rejoice as the Question Mid ‘Blue Toe’ hits our shores this weekend

Posted on Jul 20, 2022 in Reebok

One can’t argue that there was no better time than the ’90s for basketball sneakers. All the brands had something going for them. adidas had Feet You Wear, Nike brought us to the next generation with Zoom and Full-length Visible Air. Reebok’s Hexalite was being utilized in the best way as seen on the Shaqnosis and Kamikaze. And that’s just tech… designs across the board were the best ever. While everyone had outrageous designs, Allen Iverson’s signature line with Reebok started with a Question (pun intended).

During his last season at Georgetown, AI wore the Air Jordan XI’s as part of the team kit. Reebok designer Scott Hewett didn’t really know AI that much and ran with what he saw. He designed a shoe that had a similar toe cap, along with the on-trend ghillie lacing and translucent outsoles that were seen on a lot of the shoes during that era. With that, the Question was born. This weekend, Reebok brings back the iconic shoe in one of its most memorable colorways.

Iverson wore two distinct colorways during his rookie season – the ‘Red Toe’ and the ‘Blue Toe’ Questions. The ‘Blue Toe’ debuted in ’96, and made a brief comeback in 2016 to commemorate its 20th anniversary. This 2022 version brings back the OG colorway onc again, with its white leather upper and pearlized blue toe and heel. The details on this shoe are stuff of legend, with AI’s #3 stitched on to the shoe’s heel plug. Hexalite cushioning sits atop the icy blue outsoles to complete the look. Unlike its Red Toe counterpart, the Reebok Vector is done in blue with a red outline found on the shoe’s quarter panel. The Question logo (that also features the brand’s Vector) is on the heel tab. What differentiates this release from previous ones would be then-rookie Allen Iverson’s face on the shoe’s sockliner.

Details. Details. Details. The #3 on the heel plug is stitched on.

The Reebok Question Mid ‘Blue Toe’ drops this Friday, July 22, at Sports Central stores, select SM branches and sportscentral.ph. The shoe retails for Php 7,895.
