Sole Academy’s releasing the PUMA x Roland RS Pack this Sunday

Posted on Sep 27, 2018 in Puma

When we were forecasting brands that’ll do well in 2018, it was pretty obvious that Nike and adidas were going to be in the mix. For some reason, PUMA kept on popping up in discussions. Let’s face it, aside from a strong showing with their women’s line (and endorsers such as Rihanna, Cara Delavigne, Selena Gomez), PUMA’s been relatively quiet. But with the Thunder, Suede 50, and the rebirth of the RS, PUMA seems to be back on track. Aside from releasing the XLARGE Suede 50 this Sunday, PUMA  is also releasing the RS x Roland sneaker pack.

PUMA linked up with Japanese manufacturer Roland to work on two RS silhouettes- the classic RS-100 and the recently released RS-0. The RS Roland follows the story of reinvention – inspired by the past, shaped by the colorful histories of both brands and reimagined for the future.

The RS-100 Roland’s upper features an orange suede formstrip with reflective piping for that extra shine. The rest of the upper is done in white, red pebble leather, yellow suede and ripstop nylon quarter panels. A co-branded logo is found on the tongue, footbed and special hangtag. On the medial heel, you’ll see “Rhythm Composer TR-808, Computer Composer” printed on there. The outsole’s pretty cool as it is similar to the lights on the synthesizers, pretty much the same colors you’ll see on the Roland TR-808 drum machine.

The RS-0 Roland is also inspired by the TR-808. The sneaker is made up of premium leather, micro perf vents with reflective materials on the laces and midsole. “Rhythm Composer” and “Bass Drum” are printed on the  thick midsole. Orange hues continue on with the translucent rubber outsole. Like the RS-100, co-branded logos are found on the tongue, footbed and hangtag.

The PUMA x Roland RS Pack drops this Sunday, September 30th, exclusively at Sole Academy. The RS-100 Roland retails for Php 5,510 while the RS-0 Roland comes in at Php 6,950. Both pairs will be available at Sole Academy’s BGC store.
