When you’re up against someone this big, this strong, this fast, all you can do is congratulate your coaches for coming in 2nd. I know the news is a bit late for something this quick. The three-time Jamaican Olympian Gold Medalist Usain “Lightning” Bolt shattered his own personal best during the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics in Berlin.
As most of us saw the greatness of Bolt during Beijing, he bested his 100m and 200m records and made new ones when he ran 9.58 and 19.19 respectively (ok, the image above says 19.20. He was that fast. the hi-speed cameras couldn’t capture the lightning quick bolt).
Bolt wore the custom designed pair dubbed as the Puma YAAM, a shoe named after his favorite food. The shoe was developed by a team of PUMA designers and technicians who studied and measured Bolt’s stride and foot form. With this information and ongoing track-testing, they created a custom-made sprint spike that best suits Usain’s unique body kinetics.
He shocked the world exactly a year ago in Beijing and shocked the world again this year in Berlin. Now, I have a question- will the YAAMs make me as fast as Usain? Hell no. It’ll at least make running better, for sure. It’ll also make you look cool too.
